  1. Here's a quick question for assembled Herodom. I'm playing a speedster in my current campaign and have a speed tricks multipower. While have in this a Autofire HA, Megascale Surface Flight (and the senses not to splat myself), TK with both hands (Cyclone Creation Affect), a "Sonic-Boom Snap" (Flash vs Hearing, Kncokback, Does Double knockback), Missile refection vs bullets, and really neat Desolid, this is the primary "power base" for my PC other than his Movement, SPD and DEX. I have the obligatory Armored Spandex, skills, etc. I was wondering if anyone had any more "speedster" ideas for a MP Slot that would be useful?
  2. Yup... As Marcus pointed out my own predilection for wisecracks here's a few from my PC and others... Velocity to Party: "So we're flying there in a Quinjet huh?! Hell, why not increase our chances of crashing even more by painting a big "X" on our plane! Jeez!" Velocity following a villian speedster breaking off with a stolen piece of experimental metal after she moves to NCM's and Velocity goes to his mega-scale surface flight: "Well....in that case...let's break some laws of physics." Titan, son of Hercules, and played by a friend who has more fun with his brick than anyone should have a right to after closing in Haymaker range with a White Saturnian/Martian: "Nay villian....prepare yourself. RECiEVE THE GIFT!" More to follow....
  3. This has been a pont of contention among several people. If you have a power purchased with a +1/2 variable Trigger on a power in a multipower as an ultra-slot, no matter if you switched powers in the multipower beforehand, if an action that is defined by your trigger occurs, your multipower will automatically switch to the triggered power in the multipower correct?
  4. Unstoppable!!! My own take on a Jugs clone I created for a Mutant Acdemy game I ran was a guy with 30 RPD/RED, 75% Resistant Mental, Physical, and Energy Damage Reduction, 10 Mental Defense, 20 or so KB Resistance, 15 Power Defense, 10 Lack of Weakness, about 5 points of permanent growth, a good 80 STR, 35 CON, 25 BODY statline, 4 SPD, appropriate figured stats and alot of attitude. I thought it was beautiful when a PC used his AP EB Blast on the reinforced floor of the penthouse office the battle was occuring and said NPC's casual STR dropped him 40 floors to the parking garage (I ruled his casual STR and increased weight form his disads and growth coupled with falling about 8 to 10 feet a floor blew through just about every floor til the parking garage below.) Superhero Battle = Property Damage!
  5. From my soapbox... I personally have a PC who has a high combat value, and a desolid with a mutable trigger on it ( 60 Active points in a multipower...yes I know....everyone groan, but I wanted to be able to pull off the Barry Allen/Wally West desolid before a guy hits me trick). Then again I defined my desolid having a commonly affected SFX (Sound/Vibration attacks), I have no super-senses to keep me from turning it on if I get suprised, and worst of all...I'm soooooooo mentalist bait. More than that my PD and ED are 10 with only 5 of that being resistant for Killing Attacks (except for the extra PD I bought only usable for collisions so I don't stun myself with a move-by or die outright if I hit a wall at combat speed!). I just think each PC has their own way of building defenses that fit a concept. My take on speedsters is that they either don't get hit, or have a way around it. If they get hit, they're in trouble. Also keep in mind that a base desoild is 40 Active points, that means you spent 40 points on a defensive/utility power that does cost END before any advantages or disadvantages, and you can't do much while in that state short of buying advantages. And finally desoild has a stop sign, it's up to the GM to handle what a PC can and can't have.
  6. I'm sorry old chap is that my razor in your throat... Buy the guy a desoild, find weakness, buy the knife affects physical world, and buy his strength the same. Have at least one PC who can hit his special effect or has an affects desolid (so they have a chance) and give him a good combat value, speed, life support and an immortality based regeneration. It's like a creepy ghost serial killer, who always comes back every few years. I think that would strike fear into the hearts of players, as well as being a scary mystic type foe.
  7. Ouch!!!! Yes. I am a PC who will be facing off against these guys.....most of our group is around 300 to 360 points, some more efficently built than others. Marcus didn't put up the speedster b/c he knows I check these boards now. I can only guess it's got a 38-40 DEX, more combat inches and has around a 10 or 12 SPD. I do think it will be neat when Loar or Krista hits our resident Captain Marvel clone. Much like Loar's holy vunerability (which Marvel quailfies for since he was given the power of the magic lightning of good from the wizard Shazam) he takes extra damage from unholy foes. He's got HEAVY defenses, and if hit gets stunned by shot, or funnier, hit with Krista's bat, it should make for an interesting "splash page" full of gratuitous superhero property damage. I just worry about Fallen. On a decent roll with his powers and preferred tactics he can pretty much drop a PC a phase.
  8. Hmmmn...here is a way to do it. I play a speedster in our campaign so I have designed a few powers around superspeed in my time. I always figured that you could sort of see speedsters even at high speeds as a blur or shimmer. I would buy it as Invisiblity to Normal Sight, Linked to Flight (or Running), Bright Fringe with a O End Cost tacked on if you wanted it to be active whenver you ran really fast. If not then just tack on a -1/4 Limitation that requires a certain amount of inches to be moved before it works.
