  1. Re: Compleatly stupid question

Most of this is covered in The Ultimate Brick. There are several ways of doing it. The most common involves a lot of naked advantages in a multipower [which is supposed to be illegal but is one of those beloved rules exceptions that Steve Long likes to throw into the game every so often :)].

;) Nothing is illegal with GM approval, right?

  2. Re: WWYCD: Attraction Loop

Ghost Archer: This might be a huge problem for him as he is attracted to women in general. The fact that he is married and would be disgustingly loyal to Raven, would lead him to investigate what the heck was going on. If he were single, it might take a few years before he began to wonder about it.

Icehawk: There would be only one woman that would be attracted to him under the circumstances, his wife. The guy is so blindly in love with her, the only one he ever thinks about is her.

Probe: Jake is a hedonist. The more, the better and only his natural curiosity would make him question the reasoning of every female he encountered. Since he sees everyone nude, all the time, and any attractive woman would catch his notice, he might find himself in the middle of a problem or an orgy.

Psion: Kyle would be so embarrassed he would probably hide in Everith’s tower and hope it would go away. The guy still doesn’t believe Everith is in love with him and is very insecure about her. To have other girls coming on to him would confuse hell out of him.

Goliath: Nat’s already had this problem, or at least ONE girl throwing herself at him. He didn’t handle that very well and I doubt he’d do any better a second time, let alone more than one girl. His biggest fear would be losing the girl he does love, Wren. He would probably want to get as far from San Diego as possible and pray Wren would go with him and that she’d believe it wasn’t his fault.

  3. Re: The cranky thread

Twelve hours a day, seven days a week sucks. Screw the money, I want time off. Oh, and I just found out my big boss was made permanent. That's like finding out George W. gets a third term. I'd compare their IQs but you can't compare something you can't find.

  4. Re: Electromagnetic Pulse

I think I'd specify the damage/Transform or whatever be limited a little further than 'electronic'. I know I am old and once worked with tubes, valves to the Brits, but I imagine there are still a few older type electronics around. The government is still like five or six years behind the civilian world in computers. All that taken into consideration, perhaps damage/transform to 'IC chips' would narrow it down and be more accurate.

  6. Re: WWCYD: One for Many?

Amen. All the necromancer can look forward to is a vigorous beating for trying this stunt. If the captive is killed' date=' I expect to see players making that ego roll to ignore the Code Vs Killing.[/quote']

A couple of decades ago, I managed to save three teammates from just such a problem and did so without killing the Big Nasty. That was a kinder and more optimistic Ghost Archer. Of the three, only one remained relatively uneffected as the finger she lost was later regenerated. Another, after seeing all the terrible deeds he'd been forced to do, committed suicide. The last became totally evil and is my personal nemesis. He is still trying to kill me and all of my team. The Big Nasty? Dropped into a pocket Universe all his own. He is once again on the loose.

This time, no prison or pocket Universe, no matter how . . . unpleasant. This time he doesn't get off since the Code against Killing I once had has been replaced by a far more cynical point of view.

  7. Re: How many threads?

Just out of curiosity, how many threads do you experienced GMs have in play at a time? Do you have one main plot thread for all your adventures, do you just do one-shots, or a combination of the two?

    - Cap

You're kidding, right? I have never bothered to count the number of sub-plots per character. At a guess, I'd say I have at least three sub-plots per player character, some at many as six or seven. For years my games have been a very intricately woven tapestry of plots and sub-plots. Everything leads to something and everything stems from something. I have an aversion 'one-shot' games.

  8. Re: Your Character's Room at the Base

Very NIce GA. I never thought of using the Sims2 to build a base. ONe question though I saw treadmills' date=' arcade games and a pool table. I don't have those. Are those part of the university expansion? or did you download them from somewhere?[/quote']

University. I haven't had much luck finding 'new' objects for Sims 2. Waiting for someone to make up some superhero costumes. :D Then I'll have 3D character pictures too.

  9. Re: Your Character's Room at the Base

Ghost Archer's been living in the same place for 22 years so I have had a lot of time to imagine what the place is like. Recently I discover Sims 2 and found a great way to give visuals to Archer's quarters. I have a few posted on my site. Here's a few examples of the ground floor. Its kind of a common room for many of the younger members of the team.

  10. Re: What Are My Disadvantages & Powers ?

You are obviously a brain sucker living off the fat of the land. You have a particular sweet tooth for policitians but never seem to find enough material to sate your appetite. Perhaps if you move a little further north..but no...you'd find even less there.

  11. Re: Stupid question time

I saw reversion' date=' but there is no explanation whether it is applied to the base form or to the secondary form. If it is applied to the base form then he would revert regardless of which form he is in. So the qusetion here would be, is the reversion lim applied to the true form or the secondary forms?[/quote']

As I read it, the Reversion is applied to the secondary form and is an Advantage if when the secondary form Reverts to a more powerful primary and a Limitation is the secondary form Reverts to a less powerful Primary. If both forms are about the same it isn't either an Advantage OR Limitation.

I gather the third form in your case is the most powerful so Reversion should be a limitation. I don't see any reason you have to revert to the Primary form instead of the secondary form. As a GM, I'd let you let you Revert to whichever of the weaker forms that seemed appropiate.

  12. Re: Best example of role-playing a disadvantage

    Disad: Coward

    Perp: Chameleon, shapeshifting telekinetic.

Scene: Pier on San Francisco waterfront. The Wild Hunt, including Chameleon, are about to do battle with an unknown number of bad guys. Chameleon uses his shapeshifting to become R2D2 and rolls down the pier pretending to be a kid's toy robot.

Problem: Tsarsaidor, pain-in-the-ass Lord of Balance and dragon.

What happened: Tsarsaidor, at the time known only as Nick Ruby, banker, to the Hunt, shapeshift into his full dragon form for the very first time.

Results: R2D2 spun in circles, spraying everything in range with oil and squealing his domed head off. (The laughter went on for a good ten minutes.)

  13. Re: Best example of role-playing a disadvantage

    Disad: "Overconfidence"

Perp: Captain New Jersey aka CNJ, teleporter, martial artist, all around good guy.

Scene: 1 a.m., San Francisco waterfront bar. The villain group Zodiac (pre Doug's Zodiac but still as scary) are relaxing, having a few beers and sharing war stories.

What happened: CNJ had followed one member of Zodiac to this bar. After observing the party inside, the SERIOUSLY overconfident hero teleports onto the middle of the table and announces, "You are all under arrest!!"

    Problem 1: NO backup.

Problem 2: Twelve members of Zodiac, one CNJ.

Results: Luckly only an extended hospital stay.

  14. Re: Free Character Tools?

Maybe a character template with fields I can edit that spits out something decent-looking like the characters at Lothlorien Academy? This notepad stuff is for the birds.

If you are talking about my Lothlorien Academy . . . I am using Hero Designer v2.0 to generate the intial page then Front Page 2003 for the final work. If you don't own or don't plan to own HD v2.0, you should be able to use something like Front Page to edit any of the pages on my site and put in your own info. If you have HD v2.0, just use ThreePageQ.zip for your export.
