  1. Re: Attractiveness - Comeliness Vs. Striking Appearance

For my own part, I'd say the biggest difference between (for example) failing a perception roll vs failing a social resistance roll is that there is a personal decision involved in the latter. I don't have to decide that I've failed to percieve something. But when it comes to social situations with other people, it doesn't matter how good the persuasion roll or how bad my resistance roll... I still have the option to say "No".

As a GM, the same goes for my NPCs. I don't want players to feel like they've wasted points on such skills, but in the end, I have to decide what the NPC's choice will be, based not only on die rolls, but the emotional state of the character and what sort of social interactions they've had with the PC in the past.

Really on the verge of telling people who decide to take offense at being given instructions by tech support to quit taking things that don't belong to them. Thinking the obtuse bafflement might get them to quit snivelling long enough to finish fixing the problem. The computer one, not the personal one... that takes a lifetime.

Just got back from the vet, and Cathy has tested negative for FeLV & FIV, which means we can have her meet our other cats with no issue. And she's becoming much more social already, so I think she'll be able to be adopted out with no problem.

Beautiful cat, have never seen a "tri-color siamese" like that.

I'm leaning toward a laptop' date=' but with a docking station so I can still use the dual monitors for stuff like photoshop and WoW. The prices are much better than I expected these days.[/quote']

Photoshopping defeated enemies with their pants (kilts, whatever) yanked down around their knees in near-real-time is important.

Wait... what were we talking about?

So' date=' I guess bad things DO come in threes. First the divorce, then the job relocation, and now...my wallet and cell phone were stolen from my gym locker yesterday. Fortunately I had no cash and my cards were nearly maxed out already. Made all the phone calls and reports, mostly just an inconvenience. Have to request phone numbers and stuff from all my contacts now. Hope they catch the guy. The funny thing is, I'm not super-upset about it. Just taking it in stride. "S##t happens". :)[/quote']

Might want to see if your phone company can send a wipe command to the phone, in case there was anything remotely sensitive on it.
