Re: Help with Islanders
Green Stone kicks ***, in NZ it and other stone was used often. Getting whacked by one hurts. In other news, a tiki (ie a small figure tied around your head.) often represented the spirits of miscarried babies from your tribe.

Re: What Fantasy/Sci-Fi book have you just finished? Please rate it...
The Lion of Boaz-Jachin and Jachin-Boaz by Russell Hoban
I'd highly recomend this book, tis very literary it tis. However, it's also quite short. Has an interesting take on Orientalism but from the middle easterners side. Besides, Russell Hoban kicks ***.

Captain Everything's a dick.
Captain Everything actually got another hero deported for being an illegal immigrant. Taco Bell missed him.

Your character sees a spooky ghost, it's spooky. It walks past you and says "woooooooo I'm a spoooky ghooo'ooo'ost! Sooo Spooooky and ghooooooooost like! Wooooooooooooo! I say, wooooooooooo, son!" in a spooky manner.
Wooooooooo.

Re: Not Quite WWYCD: "Dude, you stole my shtick!"
It's amuzing how people keep posting to your thread to restate your question to you.
I think it would be cool to go find this person. Secretly follow him around a bit, get the 411 on him. If he is actually heroic, reveal yourself to him. Take him/her under your wing, make them a contact, hell, why not a follower? Like Batman and the league of foreign Batmen. It's always good to have someone who believes in you.

Re: Your Favorite Fantasy Weapon?
I always loved Snaga of Druss the legend fame, and, while we're at it, Waylanders double cross bow.

Re: Day jobs for characters...
Always thought that being a cab driver was a great complimentary job to being a super-hero.It's a perfect cover for patrolling in your civilian I.D. and could even be used to get info from the streets or from high society.
Also , you never have to rationalize toanyone why you're in the area.
Thats why Moon Knight has that as one of his secret identities

Re: Your Favorite Fantasy Weapon?
Nice to see some love for the Vlad Taltos weapons.Black Wand is my favorite, hands down. "Death in the form of a sword" indeed.
I liked seeing the lady teldra being formed. Now that was the coolest weapon forging story ever.

Re: Race Rename
Oop! Sorry. I didn't notice the post wasn't for Fantasy Hero.It still works. Keep the expected names, say old legends were kept alive. Simplicity works.
don'tapologise, I should apologise. I was a little snotty that week. I'd been threatened with banning or somesuch.
So, sorry for being a ****.

Re: Moden Ruins

Re: Hmmm...okay, how about a Bosnian Pyramid?
Well, they haven't really found any proof that the site is Troy, they found that there were around five citys of various ages founded their, a couple of which have vauge similarities with the Troy found in the Odyssey. However, there is no actual evidence to suggest that it was Troy, no signs of an occupation (even a seasonal one,) or records pointing to it being Troy. There is some annecdotal evidence which states there may have been illium and illia, but that's about it.
