  1. Amenmend:

These are some of my favorite heroes that I don't initially think about. Guys that I see in me occasionally. They aren't meant to star in comics but they have a place in my heart.

    1. The Fabulous Frogman (He is what I would be, just a kid that wants to be a superhero so bad he can taste it. )

    2. Captain Ultra (The worst costume design ever (on purpose) and feints at the sight of a match. This guy just tickles my fancy)

    3. Rick Jones (superheroic Also ran. He runs with the pack but is still not a member)

    4. Giantman II (Flat out the coolest costume ever. I don't know why, but The white and blue Giantman costume that Bill foster wears is my favorite)

    5. Hyperion (the coolest superman knockoff. )

    6. Batgirl ( I had a crush on the 60's TV show batgirl. the comic book one is even better)

    7. Namorita (She came into her own and then some in New Warriors. I miss her)

    8. Mr Terrific II ( Self made hero, embodiment of Fair Play and hard work. Cool Costume)

    9. Atom Smasher (Cool legacy hero with believable personality)

    10. This space left blank for future advertisment.

  2. I must admit my most embarassing moment was this:

my character, Purple Haze considered himself a Superman-esque boyscout hero. In a succession of games he:

    1) Threw a Police Car at a robot, not checking to see if anyone was in it. ( A prisoner was)

    2) turned the robot carcass over to the government and they mass produced them and created a martial law type system for the US.

    3) tried to shield himself and his partner Ace, from a police assualt that really, neither were in any danger, so he knocked over an amphatheatre, KILLING EIGHTEEN POLICEMEN. We could have just left.

    4) I killed ACE when he was mind controlled and attacked me and I did 27 body on the one hit I landed.

It took about 4 months for me to accumulate these errors. It was so sad.

  3. Powerman could have taken a few shots from DD and it really depends on weather Destroyer rolls well with that first one. Powerman has 125 STR and a martial strike. So if he pushes his strength he gets 31d6. He has 10 pts of Defense on DD and they both have 50% damage reduction.

Neither can stun the other and in 4 shots its over for someone.

Of course, in superhero games, death is rarely perminant. Who's stayed dead all these years except for Uncle Ben, the Flash (Barry Allen) and Bucky? It's a standard genre convention that if a hero goes down with the ship, he or she will probably be back. It's a wonderful dramatic opportunity for the campaign and can give a player a break from a character that they still love, but want to try something different for a while.

Look at who's back these days. Hal Jordan/Green Lantern is now the Specter. Green Arrow is back. Hawkman is back (even if everybody is still confused about who he was). Superman was dead, but got better. Most of Marvels heroes were thought dead, shunted to a pocket universe, died multiple times and finally came home.

Death, it's not the end, it's more of a vacation. ;)

    Mar-Vell

Died of Cancer, my favorite hero died of Cancer, no ultimate sacrifice, just quietly died surrounded by friends and foes in the first Graphic Novel. Was the hardest thing I ever read. He has made a few appearances from beyond the grave since then, but he is still dead. My favorite characters die. Colossus, Mar-Vell. Its annoying.

I had a character who tried for the ultimate sacrifice. He took the the evil artifact that was going to rewrite the universe and crushed it in his hands. He and the artifact turned to dust. It was kind of like Colossus's death. No witnesses, they only had a vague sense that everything was okay and Triumph was gone.

  5. Okay, these gusy are mostly Marvel characters. Jokes amongst superheroes who I have decided write up as 350 pts - Actualized versions of themselves. I don't know how it will work out, but I have always loved these guys. So, here is the first...

Background:Eugene Padallio is the son of former criminal Leapfrog. Leapfrog used a specially designed gimick suit to become something of a catburgler. However, his career was cut short by a few pummelings at the hands of DareDevil. After getting out of prison, the elder Padallio went about trying to be a good father. He couldn't quite bring himself to destroy the suit, however, it was a symbol of his dreams of making somehthing of himself, even if it was as a criminal. Eugene found the suit and made several attempts at "clearing the family name", in his highschool days as the Fabulous Frogman. Although his father was vehemately opposed to it early on, he was secretly proud of his son. He continued to modify the design and once "aided" Frogman and Spiderman against the White Rabbit and the Walrus. Eugene finally settled down and went to college. He studied engineering and spend his down time talking with his father and furthering the designs of the battle suit. Although it was now more of an intellectual exercise than anything else, the father and son were quite thrilled with the results. Euguene made appearances as Frogman occasionally, he even began to take martial arts lessons to better use the suits capablities.

His life might have been a series of lighthearted adventures if not for the fact that his father was killed one day when a group of gangmembers robbed his shop. They stole an earlier model of the suit and as a lark used it to commit crimes. Eugene broke out the prototype he and his father had worked on while he was in school and brought them to justice. He decided to become a hero full time and take his father's name, Leapfrog.

  6. 1. Captain Mar-Vell (fights to make a better Universe; Chosen)

    2. Colossus (Simply tries to do the right thing with his power)

    3. The Beast (still a man no matter what his appearance dictates)

    4. MACH II (Redemption; of all the Thunderbolts I thought he was the most human)

    5. Captain Marvel (Chosen, childlike innocence with wisdom of the ages)

    6. She Hulk (Superpowered Everywoman)

    7. Iron Man (Self made superhero)

    7. tie STEEL (same thing)

    8. Thing (the Man inside the monster)

    9. Hercules (mythology come to life)

    10. Captain America (Embodiment of all that is good about America)

  7. This sounds interesting. I really liked Allies. I don't mind the books of NPC's especially when it adds to the establisehed universe. I mean the Champions Universe needs to evolve over time, old heroes and villains fade as new ones come to the fore. Since the game simulates comicbooks they tend to be trapped in the present with the same group, but DOJ has set the scene for change, Destroyer is old and can't seem to fix that; in a few years he may simply die of old age. Think of THAT power vaccuum. Eurostar lost some members, Menton left destroyer, Terror Inc. was destroyed from the inside. They managed to do away with "overstock" power types (yet another Powered Armor Master villain, or flame weilder, or Electricity weilder) while not just saying they never existed. I think that an allies book would be welcome, as would a Watchers of The Dragon type, which is still one of my favorite books Hero in any incarnation put out. If a book can give me another piece to the universe I' enjoy it. Heck I am adding to my unverse at breakneck speed. And I don't have a problem adding more.

  8. Some of the highlights from my AEF campaign for the recruitment.

Godiva: Mental powers based on nudity

    White Eagle: Racist superhero

Scorpio 7: Professional wreslter/doc savage clone

Beaverman (i live in oregon): (the embodiment of the State of Oregon)

The Amazing Hypron: A wizard who had his spells based on a book that he kept stapped to his back. The book had a spirit that was the mentor to this apprentice wizard.

Commando: former special forces soldier. Actually was considered but wouldn't come without his 13 year old side kick (and daughter) Scout. Avengers need to be 18.

James Wasburn: (low level brick who felt he should be a superhero but didn't like the idea of dressing up in costumes)

The Amazing Harrier: (man with really slow flight powers; he could hover thought)

The Osprey: (out of shape man in with a flight suit)

Captain Ultra (low level superman clone who faints at the sight of fire)

Fabulous Frogman: (son of a reformed costumed villain trying to use his dad's costume to be a hero)

The Septanarian: (70 year old female martial arts guru)

Hunter: (a "survivalist"; also a paranoid anti-government militia member. Got along well with White Eagle (feeling was not mutual), got his @$$ handed to him by Commando for hitting on Scout)

The Revereand: (an evangelical leader with minor telekinetic and telepathic powers. All self absorbed though)

    Mmmmm...

There, there guys... I feel your pain. ;)

    nonono...I feel my pain.

and yours too. I love pain...oh wait...nope, I hate pain. Hey this posting is easy.. I should be cosmically powerful after the weekend....

  10. I would like to see some nice energy control powers. Pyrokinisis, Electrokinisis, Cyberkinetics, Light control, Radiation control...

a few nice brick tricks, perhaps some Martial arts powers or "insect" abilities. Mostly, though I need energy type powers as my Blasters often look identical save for the special effect.

perhaps some looks at unusal powers, such as those posessed by Bouncing Boy, or Doug Ramsey, or even how to do a nice Rogue-like power absorbtion.

also, it would be nice to se a power progression section that gives innovative ways to make our abilities more powerful than by just adding a d6 or Armor Piercing.
