  1. Re: A couple quick questions 1.) Shield bash is based on the size of the shield. The larger the shield, the more dice of Normal damage it does. I would have to look it up, but I think that the DCV bonus acts as a negative to OCV. STR adds to damage just like any other attack. 2.)http://www.io.com/~sjohn/demog.htm
  2. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* Yeah I noticed that as well. I do not know enough about making export formats to change it though. I just thought it might be something up your alley. I am not the author just for clarity.
  3. Re: FANTASY HERO -- What Do *You* Want To See? Aside from the 6E rules updates, I think you are going to have one heck of a challenge topping the last edition of Fantasy HERO. The one thing I think would really make this book shine is a short setting, similar to the Western Shores from the old 4th Edition version of Fantasy HERO. Something to show how it all comes together. If the book is bursting at the seams and can't fit that, I really don't know what could make it better than a general update for the new rules. Maybe a couple more sample magic systems?
  4. Re: Anyone running any online games? And one more thing, let's move general Macroing/Campaign file discussion to the Other Software thread. I'll just post campaign specific updates here.
  5. Re: Anyone running any online games? In fact, add the following "flags" to the weapon list; Armor Piercing, Penetrating, StunX. For Stun Only attacks, we can implement an additional damageType (Stun) and I will start coding in those effects. Armor Piercing is going to be easy. The others as I can.
  6. Re: Anyone running any online games? Honestly, I haven't gotten around to Armor Piercing and all of that. I imagine Stun Only applies to Normal Attacks only. Should not be too hard to implement there. I'll play with some concepts. For now, let's just run with what we have and we can add things like StunX multiples as we go. I am going to go down a line by line review of my code to see where we can implement.
  7. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* This one is the one I was referring to: HTML Combat Record
  8. Re: Anyone running any online games? By all means you can help. RBR is Reduced By Range.
  9. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* Ahhh. The forum post thing still makes them look like 5E, with Body up near the main stats and not down with STUN and END. In that case, if you go to the HERO Designer section of the main site, do a search for 6E stuff, you will find the Export format for the Combat Record sheet. Put that in your /Hero Designer/Export Formats folder and see if you like it. Your subscription to Hero Designer needs to be current, but I believe that it should be if you are creating 6E characters.
  10. Re: Anyone running any online games? Starwolf I just had a chance to look over Hardesty with a fine toothed comb. Some notes; There is a rigid cap on CV of 6. The only thing that can raise any CV value above 6 is a Combat or Martial Maneuver bonus. All things being equal, you will not be able to put both CSLs into OCV or DCV. The extra one can be used as a PSL or you can put both into DC. Other than that, you will have to split them. Hunteds are, as always, a discretionary thing with me. With a limited geo-political area (Avalon and her colonies I presume) this makes for a potential freebie. Right now I will let it stick as one of the potential storylines I have, floating around in my head, will make that relevant. Character looks good in all other ways. Quick question on the Froissement; is that just a Martial Disarm by another name, another Disarm by another name, or a unique maneuver?
  11. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* Hmmm. I use MapTool to run my games, so a lot of the hard "stat" data is encoded into the tokens (virtual miniatures). The only thing I ever have a problem with is remembering Speed/Dex. Let me see if I can find you a better resource than that.
  12. Re: Anyone running any online games? Awesome. Just awesome. Now all I need is to do the grunt work of adding in just about every common weapon I can find.
  13. Re: Anyone running any online games? Updated Hardesty token with new image.
  14. Re: Anyone running any online games? And once again, I prove my superiority over the common bullfrog! I got my weapons idea to work. One macro to rule them all One macro to find them One macro to bring them all And in the MapTools bind them I figured it out. I figured out how to store weapon names in the token and have a single macro pull from whatever token is accessing it. No more individual selectTarget macros. Just one. I has a happy. Can't tell you how long I have been wanting to get this particular hurdle overcome, and now it is. This also paves the way for martial arts maneuvers to be added. It should scare me that I am so happy over figuring out a coding problem. Edit: Even discovered that I had no Defenses applied against the Stun of an attack and made the appropriate fixes. Posted a longer summary and updated Campaign file over in the Other Software > Maptools for HERO 6th thread.
  15. Re: Anyone running any online games? Interesting. I guess no chromed to the gills street samurai types huh? That's okay. Count me as intrigued.
  16. Re: Anyone running any online games? Got it. Overall, looks good. Have to go back over your background but in the meantime I hope being part of privateer crew isn't in conflict.
  17. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* Tried to Rep, but it said I need to spread some around. I actively like every one of those write-ups. In particular, I liked how the condition of the equipment affected its stats. Nicely done.
  18. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* 404 Not Found. Too bad too.
  19. Re: Anyone running any online games? Just noticed that it is using a single damage roll for multiple attacks. Will try to find a solution tomorrow or Sunday, when I am more rested.
  20. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* This is a challenge that even the most seasoned of GM's have to face. Practice, reading how novels pace combat, and a general idea of what you think would be cool is all the advice I can offer at the moment. I encourage you to experiment with different styles and find the best one for you. Remember that the character(s) are not the only ones involved. Describe briefly how the villagers are faring against the horde. Don't swell too much before bringing the fight to the good guy(s). If they instead take the fight where they are needed, so much the better. Tough one. Role-playing games sort of thrive when there are multiple character personalities playing off each other. Unless your brother is dead set on being the lone swordsman, see if you can recruit a couple of players. Even just one more can make a difference. If you can get two or three more, you got a party. (Pun intended.) If it is just not possible, you have to really dig deep and find different NPC personae for the character to interact with. Not easy, but fun if you can manage. Once character creation is completed math shouldn't be too hard. Just going through the paces a few times should get you up to speed on the basic mechanics. Take it from here. Look at things that have happened during your session and see where you can develop the story from that point. Desinging opposition is pretty easy too. Just base it off your brother's character's stats.
  21. Re: Anyone running any online games? I have an idea. How many Weapons or Martial Maneuvers does the average character have? Would you say 4-6? I may have my problem solved.
  22. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* Good ideas.
  23. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* That should buy you some time. You can stat them out fully later. Hope any of that was a help.
  24. Re: Need game advice, *Quick* Skeletons. YBC OCV -2 (3 Minimum), DCV 3. Armed with appropriate weapon that does 1.5d6 Killing (no str Bonus). Body 3-5 each. PD/ED of 3/6 (resistant/normal). Zombie. As above but boost Body to 5-7. Ghoul. As Zombie, but increase Body to 10. Add STR Drain 1d6 if attack hits. First Henchman. Duplicate YBC stats. Tweak them just a little. Add +2 STR, -1 DEX, +1 OCV, -1 DCV. Add a couple of Martial Maneuvers. Make him an Anti-Paladin so his powers mirror YBC.
