I was thinking of going with the being different. Normal speech would make a good mutation/ability. For one, it provides a good reason for the packmates turning on him. Two, it would make interactions easier. I see him keeping that still kind of a secret, out of fear of reprisal and shame. And we can work through any other details. I will start on fleshing out a more complete background.

Ok, I have my character concept (first draft pending GM changes to fit the world).

He is a Ggaru. His father discovered an item/fact that would spell doom for his family if the rest of the pack found out. (thinking maybe that maybe he had some kinda of abilities that were not normal for Ggaru). There was a civil war in his pack/tribe/whatever they are called over food/rights/etc. They were driven out and forced to live in isolation eecking out a living however they could. He was out on a hunting trip that went wrong. Last thing he remembers before passing out from his wounds is seeing some kind of angelic creature above him. When he awoke, he was in a church halfway across the country being tended to by the local clergy. Nobody there knows how he got there. He just was found on their doorstep. He has no memory of anything before the event.

That's a quick and dirty to see if it is worth expanding.

Are there any mutes with either shape shifting abilities or 'were' creatures (i.e. animal-man from Post Apocaplypse Handbook).

I am working up a couple of character concepts, especially as you guys post more info about the world.

And will the Ggaru and the Aiogs be playable as characters? If so what type would they be considered: pure, mutts, or beasties?

When building your hero base, what labs would you consider the basic ones every hero should have?

There seems to be a map missing. The Justice Mansion indicates that the medical wing has a separate map. The only separate map is for the Conference room wing. Is that a typo or did a map get left out? Is there a way to get that map?

There seems to be a map missing from the Justice Squadron Mansion. The 3rd floor legend shows for the medical wing to see separate map but then the only separate map is for the west wing of the 5th floor. I do not see why that had to have it's own separate breakout since the separate map dos not show much more detail than the main map. Either way, where is the separate map for the medical wing?

Ok, I am trying to figure this one out.

You get a free effect when buying CE. Multiple combat effects says the one he gets for free must be the cheapest. So if a character has:

CE 1 hex

- 1 Temperature Level

-5 Sight Group

-5 Hearing Group

Long Lasting (1 hour)

Multiple Combat Effects'

Mega Area 10 km

No Range

Gradual Effect (1 turn)

OAF, bulky

What is the AP and actual cost of the power? Do you get the -1 temp lvl as part of the CE?

If a character has desolid, does not stop damage limitation and missile reflection. Since an attack would affect them, could they reflect it back to the attacker?

There are examples of size and weight complications already in 6e. First you take the Complication to reflect things are not build for people outside average range. Then you just buy the bonuses to other things. Shrinking, Growth and Density Increase say those are meant for people who can alter their body structure, not for people who are always that size/weight.

Sorry. I should have specified 5th ed for this. Yes, under 6th barrier with Images would work to cover a lot of it.

How is the best way to build one? I know the images part but if you wanted it so that there were solid objects and such for characters to use/interact with, how would you represent that?

The +5 was not an official rule more what Steve suggested if you wanted to do an adder for that. That being said, I would suspect there is a good chance it makes it into the APG.

I'm not an official source but I know generally if it is for personal use, it's allowed. Being that you are looking at only you and your group using it, I would doubt there'd be an issue. It's only when you start distributing or selling it that it things get dicey.

How is that different than 5e? There is a No Gravity Penalty advantage already.

Unless I am missing something, a person in a globe is not "locked down". They can still move, and assuming it is round, they can roll it like a hamster ball as per the power description. So by englobing them with the low def high body example, you've just given them extra armor. Without the transparent advantage, damage is stopped both ways. Now mister brick can make move throughs with a lot more ease since he's got extra protection.

There are plenty of other powers that can remove a character from play:

entangle based on ego. a 3 DEF 3 Body will pretty much take most non mentalists out

teleport usable as attack, with megascale

extra dimensional travel, usable as attack

It all boils down to how the GM allows it. No matter how you plan for it, players will find another way you did not anticipate.

But not all martial arts require impact. Can you use martial escape? That is a maneuver specifically designed for escaping being grabbed so presumably you are using leverage to get more power out of your escape attempt. I can see the same applying to an entangle.

2. Can you reinforce a Barrier? A barrier acts like a real wall - and can be built with BODY (it is a good idea to do so generally as Body is pretty cheap). Once it is damaged, can you reinforce it or do you need to build another wall? Given that walls are (minimum) 1/2 m thick - that may not always be practical.

The rules state that you to reinforce a barrier, you just recreate it. The new barrier basically replaces the one that is there. No extra space is required.

Where are the excerpts located?

I'd like to put it out there that you set a standard format for all Hero books. And by that I mean a fairly consistant layout of chapters. I always hate having to go to the index or table of contents to lookup where something is in this book or that book. I find it is easier if I know that chapter 8 will contain villians or chapter 4 will have powers. I know that some books will not lend to this but at least common among a series, say the ultimates or the like.

I know there was a supplement for 2nd or 3rd ed I believe Corporations. What are the major corporations in the Champions universe and the what the common man would know?
