  1. Hi gang, hoping you can all give me some pointers on making some conversions/mods for my Champions game. Currently I'd like to mod up an Ankylosaur figure: Ankylosaur Picture I saw Redmenace's excellent conversion using a Colossus base figure, a Space Marine Backpack from Warhammer 40K, a little putty, and Scorpion's tail. The part I can't figure out is how he modified the head of Colossus to look like it does (not sure what got filed off and what got puttied). Here's Redmenace's Ankylosaur Conversion for reference... This defintiely makes a nice Ankylosaur, but I like to be different... I'm thinking of using The Rhino, adding a Scorpion's tail, possibly using a similar backback as Redmenace did, or making one of my own with putty... but, I'm a bit stuck on the head. Any suggestions out there? Also, I'm new at moding HeroClix figures, are there any tips for proper sanding/filing off of details? Thanks! Keith P.S. Going to have to pick Redmenace's and Proditor's heads on their other Champions conversions as well. Really nice stuff! P.S.S. How the heck do you embed images on this board? Can you only do it as an attachment?
  2. Re: Villains, Vandals, and Vermin: Who should be in it? Steve already knows my top pick from another thread, Wyvern! And since he left a little loophole to bring him back, I hope he uses it. My other picks include Deathstroke, Panda and Racoon, The Fox, and strangely, Ladybug (one of the few female solo villains out there, and the only power armored one I'm aware of). Keith
  3. Re: Good toys for use with Champions... According to The Hero System Vehicle Sourcebook, an SR-71 Blackbird is a size 12 vehicle (16" x 8"). So this toy is a bit larger than I would have liked for Hero System scale, but should still work out well. The Justice League Javelin toy seems to be another toy that might work out well. According to this site, it is approximately 12" long: http://www.etoys.com/genProduct.html?PID=2443579&ctid=17&ls=toys Keith
  4. Re: Good toys for use with Champions... Proditor: Exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Now if only I knew what the different vehicles were! This one looks like some kind of toy SR-71 Blackbird (X-men toy?). Can anyone ID it for me so I might pick one up for myself?
  5. Re: Good toys for use with Champions... Yeah, I like those buildings too. I've seen the cardboard PDF downloads for them and they look really great. I figure a little plasticard backing, and they could stand up pretty well, and storeage on a shelf wouldn't be too bad. Now I just need to find some vehicles for team transports and I'm good to go! Keith

  7. Re: Good toys for use with Champions... Actually, I love Hirst Arts stuff. I've got every mold Bruce makes already. Thanks though! Keith
  8. Re: Good toys for use with Champions... The problem is I can't find any cool aircraft that fit a similar scale that might work as cool transports. I think Matchbox, Hotwheels and Company all jumpt to 1:128 or higher scales for aircraft (designed for kids and all that). Would love to see if I can find some kind of match for a transport... Maybe some Warhammer 40K Tau conversions or something? Keith
  9. Re: Isle of Dr. Destroyer(?) It advertises the screen, but there is no mention of it providing the old adventure as well. If they did, I'd buy it in a heart beat. Steve (or any of the other Hero Staffers), does the currently advertised GM Screen in the online store come with the old Isle of Dr. Destroyer module? If not, Edsel, are you still willing to offer yours up? Thanks! Keith
  10. Re: Good toys for use with Champions... What are M.U.S.C.L.E. men? Never hear dof them. Do you have a link?
  11. Re: Champions miniatures Bill: Love your new Grond version! All of the other Gronds I've seen have been based on the Abomination. This new one looks like it was based on one of the Hulk heroclix, yes? What did you use for the head, a Lizardman with horns taken from the Rhino or soemthing? Any recipe info would be wonderful! (that goes for anyone else who posts some of their work... if at all possible, please share the wealth!). Keith
  12. Ok, this may seem silly, but I'm on a hunt for scenery and vehicles for use in my Champions game. A few come readily to mind: Heroclix (we all know this one) including the Indoor and Outdoor Adventure Packs Matchbox or Hotwheels Cars and Trucks (actually appropriate matches for comparable hex sized vehicles) Fast Lanes (a new line of cars and trucks offered by Toys R Us -less expensive than the above two, and more realistic in my opinion, though scale varies slightly among the vehicles) see also some of their construction playsets. What other toys and playsets have you guys found that fit the Champions 1" Hex scale well for Terrain and Scenery? In particular, I'd be very interested in hearing of any toys that make good team aircraft transports. Thanks! Keith P.S. An interesting side note... Most of the toy cars and trucks mentioned above are actually 1/64 scale. The usual 25-28mm figures are actually much larger than they should be for their hex based measurements. So vehicles that are 1/64th scale are actually mroe likely to be the right size for maps, etc. it seems.
  13. Does anyone out there know how I could get my hands on this old Champions adventure? I'm thinking of running a series of Dr. Destroyer adventures by my group, but would like to have this module for additional reference material. Thanks! Keith
  14. I've got a character that is essentially a Batman/Nightwing styled character, a masked vigilante with lots of gadgets. Not long ago, I found a great write up in one of my Hero System books for Tracking Bugs, essentially images that are viewable on selective radio frequencies over a mega-scale. I'd like to build some other bugs that would allow me to hear villains conversations, etc. from a distance. Or otherwise observe their activites from afar. Can anyone come up with some good write ups for it? I've tried building it using clairsentience but it gets expensive real quick (I'm trying to keep this under 37 active points, which is the limit of my multipower). Any ideas? Keith
  15. Re: Wanted - old Adventurers Club magazines Dynamo: Let me know what the shipping cost would be, and thanks! (just send me a PM, and we can work out the details). Lord Liaden: Thanks for the links, but unfortunately each of those companies is asking for premium prices ($17.00 for example for Issue 1, before shipping and handling are added in). I'm hoping to pick them up for the cover prices, less a little bit for wear and tear. Keith
  16. Re: Wanted - old Adventurers Club magazines What is eMule? Never heard of it.
  17. I realize most folks on these boards probably won't part with theirs (but if you are willing to, let me know), but does anyone know a good source for getting some of the old Adventurers Club magazines? I'm just getting back into the game after a 15 year hiatus, and managed to dig out my copies of AC #1 (Vol.1 No.1 - Fall '83) and AC #3 (Vol. II No. 1 - Spring '84). The adventures listed in these old books are actually still quite good, and none of the guys I play with would really know about them (which means I can bring them back, with the characters updated for 5th edition when its my turn to GM). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Keith
  18. Re: Whatever happened to the Wyvern? Agreed JJR. I think that's why the thread hasn't been started. Folks are waiting to see what Steve says before they post something that would violate anyone's copyrights. At the same time, its nice to see the energy and enthusiasm on the part of the Hero discussion board members who are willing to contribute though. Keith
  19. Re: Whatever happened to the Wyvern?
  20. Just curious, but can anyone tell me what ever happened to the Enemies Villain Wyvern? I used to have this guy as a nemesis back when I first played Champions 15 years ago. I wanted to use him as a nemesis for a revamped version of one of my favorite heroes from way back then, but can't find any stats for him in Conquers, Killers and Crooks. I heard a rumor he might have appeared in Classic Enemies, but I don't have that book, and to my knowledge, he hasn't turned up in any 5th edition publications yet. Anyone? Keith
  21. Re: Millenium City Maps(?) Well, I can understand your point JJR, but be that as it may, our GM has based his campaign in Millenium City. I like the city over all, and am really enjoying reading about it in the book Hero Games put out of the same name. My major concern comes from the fact that the maps aren't as detailed as I would like, and that I think we as a gaming community could supplant that one detail if necessary. I'm just trying to find out if any one else has already created the maps so I don't have to... Thanks for any maps folks can provide or information regarding such! Keith
  22. Re: Millenium City Maps(?) So still no replies to this one, eh? I can't be the only one who has thought of this... surely some one else out there ha done some map work for Millenium city in color???
  23. Re: Looking for NEW words of transformation: (SHAZAM, Thunder! Thunder!...) I have a character named Jabberwock, and he's based on the poem Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll (poem is taken from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872). He transforms into his hero form by reciting the line from the poem "Beware the Jabberwock, my son!" and returns to his normal form by reciting "So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stood awhile in thought." Guess it all depends on what your origin is based upon. Keith
  24. Just curious, but has anyone out there created any color coded or resource maps for Millenium City beyond what's in the Millenium City book? In particular, I'd like to get something that clearly marks the districts a little better, and perhaps some other maps indicating the rail routes through the city. If anyone has any such PSD, JPG or GIF files, please let me know! Thanks Keith P.S. Worse comes to worse I might try my hand at borrowing some building overhead shots from City of Heroes maps and going to work in photo shop to integrate something into a series of Millenium City color maps. I'm just wondering if anyone has already done the work for me...
