  1. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Season 3 ep 1 of Black Lagoon. Storyline is Roberta's Blood Trail. Interesting so far. and yes, the Yellow Flag gets trashed again.
  2. Re: Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique A killing NND might work. The Dim Mak from the book doesn't work for me. Body Drain and Str Drain with a gradual effect fits the Dim Mak fine. But the FPPEHT or the 100 Step Soul Catching Fist it was based on work a little differently. Delayed effect is based on movement, though it can still be cured with Chinese Medicine. Seems to do immediate damage then followed by the lethal damage after a certain number of steps, which can be represented as movement over a certain number of hexes under the targets own power. Rigid Armor, force field, or inhuman physiology should be enough to stop it.
  3. I did a search on this and didn't find much. Ideas on how to build this?
  4. Re: open Beta for Preorders? Yep, the fun of beta. I'll just wait and try later. I'll be logging in when the game releases, just hoping for a advanced peek.
  5. Re: open Beta for Preorders? The link Fileplanet provides requires me to be a paid member of Fileplanet to download the game, or to have a preorder key. But yes, sounds like the usual fun during the start of open beta. Stress testing everything to make sure it can survive the real launch.
  6. Re: open Beta for Preorders? I apparently missed the bit where they said open beta was only available to pre orders. Tsk.
  7. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... A few bits and pieces from my Hell's Gate Open game (Hellsing meets Witchhunter Robin meets Black Lagoon) Ian O'Toole has just found he needs to infiltrate a bondage party to follow up an investigation. Ian (on celphone): Teng, do you know anything about bondage? Master Teng: How did you know I met a girl tonight? --------------------------------------------------------------- I really didn't think this through... GM: The guards are armed with handguns and uzis. Rory's Player: The Islamic prison guards are using Israeli sub-machineguns? --------------------------------------------------------------- Ian's back from the party. Ian: We could be attacked, have the guards be on the lookout for anything unusual. Rory: Like you dressed in bondage gear? Ian: ... I forgot to change.... ---------------------------------------------------------------
  8. Re: Black Lagoon HERO Just got my copy Friday and it looks awesome. I much prefer watching it on my TV instead of my computer. At some point I might even work up the courage to listen to the dubs.
  9. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Said OOC: "Your character doesn't have martial throw? What kind of martial artist is he?" "A swordsman."
  10. Re: Dark Champions the Anime Series I'll need to look at it from home to really think about it. But the basics all look good. I'd be tempted to give both speed 5, but that's probably overkill. Gin and Revy do seem to be moving at a different speed than everyone else, but if everyone else is 3, then it works. I've never been a big fan of rounding up on Com. I think Gin's KS is about right. He doesn't sound really plugged into the day to day, and it's obvious he's been 'retired' for a time before returning. Assuming levels split he can do 10/13 OCV/DCV. Revy can do ... 14/12? I'm assuming the ranged will go on offense. Of course, when Gin was closing the range he was probably half move and dodging. So this seems about right. I can see Gin having a psych about wishing for a normal life. He seems very content when he's not Man Killing Gin, and seems like he'd prefer to take the girl away to live a quiet life. But his honor doesn't allow this. Paradoxically, despite warning Revy that she'll only fight him if she's unlucky, he clearly relishes the challenge of fighting Revy when it comes down to it. Gin's damage is massive. 1 1/2 d6 with the sword. Deadly blow makes the base damage 2 1/2 d6. Strength would make it 3 1/2 d6. +2 DC for Slash is 4d6+1. This seems a little high.
  11. Re: Dark Champions the Anime Series I may skip charges. Hirano has said Anderson basically carries an unlimited number of bayonets. I like the idea someone mentioned that Anderson probably carries one blade, then does a fishes and loaves thing with the blade to produce the hordes of bayonets. In the both the manga and anime we do very clearly see Anderson spread an attack or using some type of area effect.
  12. Re: Dark Champions the Anime Series Hmm..I was a little careless in the wording. I'm mainly referring to the auto fire and that we never see just some of the blades hit. When he uses it, they all seem to hit. He'll get a couple of area affect attacks as well, like his Explosive Guidance Chain, as well as his basic long bayonet hand to hand attack.
  13. Re: Dark Champions the Anime Series Mostly anime related. I'm working on a Paladin Alexander Anderson manga write up for Hellsing. I've been considering his bayonet flurry attacks and wondering if Autofire is the best way to handle them. He never seems to miss, so when he throws 10 bayonets all ten will hit. Which almost sounds like a special effect of a ranged killing attack. I'm still debating this though, and would like some additional input.
