  2. Hi all, i have a couple of questions. While runing a Heroic campaign using only Sidekick, i would like a mechanic to represent characters not recovering stun during combat, only after they exit combat, in other words REC only works out of combat or inside combat for END. How could i represent this? Also, i am moving from d20 modern and i would like to know, how to represent the Base attack bonus? i figured that the defensive bonus can be represented with the skill Combat Skill Level (Only DCV Mod ), How can i represent the BAB of D20 Modern here, basically a OCV that affects both HTH and Range Attack, but does not affect DCV. Hats off to you guys, and thanks in advance for the answers. Luis R. Rojas
  3. Not sure if this is the place to ask, but i was looking to buy Space Hero and it seems to not be Available in the Store in either Book form or PDF. What's the word regarding this? Can we expect a re-stocking soon or a publication in PDF? Thanks in Advance Luis R. Rojas
  4. Re: Fantasy Hero PBEM well, as soon as you have room, let me know... i am interested in trying this too
  5. Re: Anyone have Tomb of Horrors? Hey!!! the killer is back from vacations
  6. Re: Anyone have Tomb of Horrors? Actually, the reason it became popular is because Gygax ran the module at cons and killed everyone who played it ( the characters not the actual people ), and so GMs started wanting to run it for their players back at home.... if you ask me... Tomb of horrors is a Sadist Dungeon made to torture players... the chances of surviving it ( as designed ) are very slim. Temple of elemental Evil is a better module IMHO
  7. Re: Campaign: The Turakian Age aww come on guys, what is work, sickness and stuff compared to the great game you guys been playing...
  8. Re: FH minor errata update Well, i think he cpould use some hiring right about now... here is his LJ, it seems he is no longer working @ SJ Games as of August 30th.
  9. Re: Post-apocalyptic fantasy can you give us, the heathyen that dont know what you are referring to, a few links to oogle at?
  10. Re: Help with campaing fleshing! thanks arkady, and thanks all that have been so supportive in guiding me through this process. A question for you all. what do you think of the creation story i posted? is it too over the top? could it be congruent with the world? anyway, i am working on the second race, will post as soon as i have some sort of coherent thing. btw, Arkady, that short fiction idea is really cool. i will try that also. On another note, Thinking about the magice system ( Ron, Tom, thanks both for your ideas on Hero Central Chat ), i feel it could work like the one in Turakian age ( bear with me as my Turakian info steems from the forums and a tiny sidebar in Fantasy Hero ), there are skills for each magic sphere, ( 4 so far ), and is kind of elemental ( Wind is Weather, Eartth is Nature/Good, Fire is Power/Evil, Water is Life ), spells cost 1/3 of their real cost. i am thinking of having talents that grant you the avility of increasing the Active Point of a Spell, Water Control I gives you a maximun of 10 Active Point per spell, Water control II increases that to 20, and so on to 50. not sure if i should have a talent for each magical sphere. anyway, waiting for your insightfull responses, Luis R. Rojas
  11. Re: FH minor errata update man, thats just too funny
  12. Re: FH minor errata update ok, will keep it in mind Mr. Long, sorry that i posted it, just didnt know what to do with it.
  13. Re: Help with campaing fleshing! well, here goes nothing. keeping up with the theme of Dhar'maray. ( where the hear is, magical gem hidden in the world ). the idea i just came up with is this, the creator after creating the universe. created the elohim, creatures imbued with his essecense to keep him company and to have someone to apreciate the beutifull things he created. but some of the elohim saw something else, the power to shape things that the father had and so a group of them, following one of the most cunning of the elohims, planned to steal that power. Being mere children they didnt understood that the tools the father used where not the power itself and so they stoled his tools. Being the father, and being he made the tools in the first place. He wasnt terribly upset about the tools but he understood that greed and envy had entered the minds of the elhim, so he call uppon them and let them know they could keep the tools but that he will change their appearance to suit their actions and he proceed to make them into foul creatures that we now call demons. in shame they fled to hide their ugliness from their brothers. The father then granted the power of creation uppon the ones that remained loyal and told them he will sleep among the void for a while but he will come back to check uppon them when the time was right. And so he went to sleep and in sleeping he dispersed his body among the stars, but his heart remained in the shape of a ruby wich the elhim took under their care. Meanwhile, the Erijah ( the elohim punished ), thought to use the tools but lacking the knowledge of their use, all that they could do was make twisted mockeries of the things that the father did. Frustrated they started destroying and that seemed to work fine. still they wanted to reshape themselves into the form of the Elohim. when they went looking for the father and couldnt find him, they asked the elohim where he was and they told him that he went to sleep in the void for a while, but that his heart remained still with them. The Erijah not having learnt their lesson and still possesing the father tools, thought that if they posessed the heart and the tools they could do the things that the father did. The Elhim refused to give the heart to the Erijah, and so the Erijah left with murder in their hearts. The Elohim Fearing for the Father's heart hatched a plan to hide it. they looked for the best place to hide it but couldnt find a suitable one. until one of them thought of a world to hide it in. they placed the heart in the void and began building a world around it but the heart was restless and kept moving, so they kept building around it, encasing it in this world, binding it to the world, and the world began to grow because now it was a living thing, with the heart of the creator inside. The Elohim realized then what they needed to do. And fleed the place saving only the tyniest memory of it so the Erijah couldnt pry the information from them, and so they went back, and when the Erijah came looking for the heart, the Elohim told them that they had hidden it so they could not taint the spirit of the father. This provoked a war that last to this very day, and the Erijah rage in the void among the stars looking for Dhar'maray wich in their language means where the heart is. The Planet, having the heart of a god, couldnt help but give birth to all forms of life. and when these life forms grew, and began to take stoke of their surrondings found a force that was all present in their world and they called it magic but in fact it is the lifeforce of the creator, the father of all.
  14. Re: Help with campaing fleshing! is cool man, i asked for opinions and sugestions, and i been getting them, just never expected to be confronted in the "How big the world is" arena. Please dont take offence at my previous post.
  15. Re: FH minor errata update should i have posted this somewhere else? is this a know error? am i mistaken in thinking this is an error? is it worth including in the errata? i am just curious about those questions since i havent seen a single answer :s
  16. Re: Help with campaing fleshing! i really dont know why this causes so much problem for some people. Is just a world, yes is big, but is still fantasy... i am not saying is ok to disregard all senses of rationality but we are talking of a place where there is magic, giants walk and dragons fly... shall i worry about the aerodinamics of the dragon flight? can you picture one of the big dinosaurs with a couple of wings attached, being super-smart, breathing fire and flying around?
  17. Re: Help with campaing fleshing! thanks guys.. i was planning to have a secret in my world and with markdoc idea of a hollow world it makes more sense.... the name Dhar'maray, steeming from the ancient phrase Dharma Maray wich means "Where the heart is", well i planned to have this thing in the world that was refered by the name, now i think i will just make it a Huge Magic Jewl that floats in the center of this hollow world, the whole planet is a cover for it. Hidding it.... but from whom?
  18. Re: Help with campaing fleshing! *sigh* well i could say is to compensate for my wants at being born in an island... when you can go from one extreme of the island to the other i less than a day... but overall, i wanted it to be big so there was no way to have the whole world explored. this way i can introduce something later on and i could just say that it was always there, ppl just didnt saw it before...
  19. Hi, not sure if this is where i should post this, but i think i found a minor error in the FH book thay might merit including in the errata, unless i am reading something wrong. On page 389. the write up for "Tarina" states that she has : 15 STR, with a cost of 5, yet she can lift 300kg. there is probably a mistake as the str table indicates that she should only lift 200 kg, and i dont see any power/talent to allow for the extra lifting capacity.
  20. Re: Help with campaing fleshing! so, what do you guys think? how best to make the Package Deal for that race.. or just make it a Cultural Package Deal?
  21. Re: Help with campaing fleshing! thanks, impressive resources to say the least. I am afraid i cant shell the 20 bucks that the pdf document cost right now... ( for me is more akin to 800 bucks with the exchange rate ), i am saving to get turakian age, and the grimoires. Other than that, jave you any avice about my islander race?
  22. Re: Help with campaing fleshing!
  23. Re: Help with campaing fleshing! hi, back again. First, i forgot to put in the previous post. Dhar'maray is the sole surviving word from a long forgotten language. It's original meaning was "Where the heart is", is comon use in the world is when refering fondly/lovingly to one's home. The first people i wish to discuss i have yet to name, they hail from the island ( as yet to be named also ) marked in the attached map by a lilttle circle. to give a sense of scale, that tiny island in the map is rougly 800 miles wide and around 1,300 miles tall, wich, if you turn the united states 90 degrees to the right should be pretty close. The following is some flavor text i am doing for the race, please be kind but stern if i need something pointed out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Living in the chain of islands located on the southernmost part of the main continent, they enjoy a tropical weather all year round, Even tho their islan has impressive terrain extensions they are basically a coastal civilixation. prefering the jois of living by and off the sea. The interior is largely unexplored, prefering them to populate the coastal region. they usually stand from 4' 5" to 5' 5" ( 5 foot, 5 inches ), they sport a permanent tanned hue to their skin, and usually have curly hair that varies from Purplish-Black, Bluish-Black and Jet-Black, the eyes are round and open usually blue, sometimes green. They resemble humans but for their hair color and pointy ears. There are 2 things they love more than anything, Sailing and cooking. You can picture them as a "Laid Back" society, giving them that islander feel to them, peace loving and comerce oriented, they will still fight fiercely to protect what is theirs and their loved ones. Their usual ocupations are : Sailor, navigator, Merchant, Weather Mage, Shipwright, Fisherman, Tinkerer, Alchemist. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ok, some notes regarding that text. the world is magical but i would put it as a High-Low fantasy or a Low-High fantasy setting. The gods do not mess too much with the land, so the D&D cleric is no where in sight. wich brings me to the point of magic. I am not sure how to do it, but i want it to be flavorfull, for instance, the Weather Mage, is a magic user that focuses on weather control and prediction. but nothing over the top. No flying, no teleport, etc. Still, an experienced weather mage could be a fearsome figure to opose. One other thing, these guys i just described could very well be humans, so i am not sure if making them into a race is worth it. Waiting to hear your thougts, Luis R. Rojas.
