  1. Re: The cranky thread My Hubby is now sleeping off a big hassle till 1:30 am, an eight hour non-direct flight home from 5:00 am, for which he had to get up at 3:30 am, and five nights of an empty hotel bed. He has Jury Duty tomorrow at 8:15 am. I'm going to just let him sleep the night if he wants and set an alarm for 5:00. He usually gets up at 3:00 to feed the cats, but I'll be comatose. Not Fair !
  2. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread My honey came home at 1:30 today !!!!!!! Hip hip hooray !!!!!
  3. Re: The cranky thread Why, Old Man ! I didn't know you cared !
  4. Re: The Non Sequitor Thread Hey ! That's my line !
  5. Re: The cranky thread Oh, and Xavier, I hope your "Not" Girlfriend gets a day off soon.
  6. Re: The cranky thread Sorry TKD Guy, but now at least you know where the real problem lies. Hope you feel better soon, DT. Thanks for the advice, John. It is well sent. I am holding onto more chains than Marley's Ghost. Thanks everyone for the support.
  7. Re: The cranky thread I just dragged myself out to the Mailbox to pick up the accumulated mail. Four days worth of mail and there is exactly one piece in there that is not junk. Sad.
  8. Re: The cranky thread My Baby is going away in three hours. We are together so much we might as well be Siamese Twins, so five days without him is going to be really weird. The worst part is on the sixth day he may have Jury Duty.
  9. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I haven't tried to use Microsoft Word or write a business letter in more than twenty years and Lawsy ! Have we come a long way, Baby !!!!
  10. Re: The cranky thread Today OddHat tried to do a one-armed push-up. I tried it too and fell flat on my face. I now have a pulled Trapezium. My body demands to know what I've been smoking.
  11. Re: The cranky thread Thanks, Guys.
  12. Re: The cranky thread Well, I've been to the Doctors. I have three stomach disorders. I need to go to a Nutritionist to have a food plan made. I need a Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. I also have the Acid Reflux so I'm coughing my head off and two sore hips so walking is tough. One of my stomach problems makes me weak and dizzy. The worst part is I can't even have sugar in cough syrup as it makes my stomach scream, even two teaspoons. I know I should count my blessings though. At least I have medical care.
  13. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Anything containing any kind of sugar or white flour. I'm too sick to drive and my stomach hurts too much to go to sleep. I'm done. That includes the "healthy" food bars I consumed by the ton with their "pure cane juice".
  14. Re: The cranky thread I'm weak and dizzy and I just want to sleep. Gotta be somewhere at 7:00 though.
  15. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread I spent more than four hours today way outside my comfort zone. Had an awesome meditation class where the agony of sitting on the floor for nearly three hours was excruciating. But I accomplished some Spiritual Growth. After the class I stopped at a Chick Fil A because my body was saying, I don't even care if it's dead yet. FOOD NOW. After eating, I looked at the Wegman's where I needed to pick up some prescriptions, at least 100 yards away. I remembered my Physical Therapist saying he didn't even want me to start on the treadmill yet as my left hip was weak as a kitten. I said B*llsh*t ! Let's do it ! Off I went, in heels, which I have extremely little experience with. I made it to the Wegmans Prescription counter and back to my car, at the other end and across the driveway at Chick Fil A. There had been a booth of Girl Scouts selling cookies in front of Chick Fil A, but when I arrived they were finishing packing up to leave, so I didn't get to buy any, but knowing that the money that was made at that booth was going to programs that make the Religious Right scream the loudest and it was in front of a Chick Fil A brought a smile to my lips. For a Warrior, no excuses ! For a Victim, nothing but excuses.
  16. Re: The cranky thread Take two Immodium, Xavier.
  17. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread You Rock, Marcus ! Rep if I could !

  19. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat teh bunneh is off his Meds again. NT: What is on your favorite T Shirt ?
  20. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat He's dressed in a Salvation Army Worker's uniform. (Only those who are old enough to remember "Laverne and Shirley" might get this reference)
  21. Re: The cranky thread Last year I tried to end my life-long affair with sugar, chocolate and goodies of all kinds. Now they have let me know unequivocally and with no buts, it's over. Now I must say "I don't eat sugar", "I don't eat white flour" and "I don't eat fried foods" and mean it. Farewell, chocolate. Farewell, fudge. Farewell, Haagen Dazs. Farewell, all my comfort foods. My stomach is speaking loud. It's over.
  22. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Well, now I don't have an excuse but I have eight boxes of Girl Scout cookies, five of Pop Tarts, many eaten and chocolate fudge. I think I just don't care anymore.
  23. Re: The cranky thread Maybe it's not lack of Willpower. Maybe you think you deserve a treat after the ordeal of Dialysis. If your Mom rewarded you with treats when you pleased her or denied you dessert when you didn't, you will go through the rest of your life rewarding yourself with goodies. Maybe you could switch to a non-food treat, such as a new E book or music download.
