    The Destroyers

Re: The Destroyers Uh, I think they prefer the term "sidekick" to flunky.
  3. Re: UNTIL SuperPowers Database Usefulness Jhamin and Beauxdeigh have pretty much nailed it. The way I utilize it is as a "plug and play" powers resource for villians, usually with a little tweaking. It's particularly useful when there I have to create a number of villains from scratch.
  4. Re: Appropriateness of "Automaton" advantages for a PC By Cyborg I'm assuming you mean half human/half machine. I think you could argue it either way. It sounds like you're looking for justification to NOT get the automaton advantage. If that's the case, I think you're fine. If you actually want the automaton advantage, I would make sure your G.M. is o.k. with it. Is there a precedent in your campaign for this issue?
  5. Re: Answers & Questions Q. Can you make up a word that almost sounds like a real word and use it in a sentence? A. You bet your sweet ass.
  6. Re: Answers & Questions Q.What is the ultimate reward for living a life pursuing self gratification? A. A midget, two blondes, an amputee, a dutch girl, and a lama.
  7. Re: Another "would you allow this in your campaign" question... Gotcha. It's not a literal interpretation of a taser. A couple of ideas: 1) instead of ego to break out, target uses CON. 2) low body (or no def) so that it comes down to a matter of time before target breaks out.
  8. Re: Answers & Questions Q. What made you think I could beat a Wookie in armwrestling? A. I don't think your hair can take another perm, skip.
  9. Re: Another "would you allow this in your campaign" question... Actually, there is a physiological effect for tasers. Tasers fire hooks into the skin of the target and deliver 50k volts of electricity, which causes a "short circuit" in the brain, which is what you are describing. There are, however, also muscular contractions effecting the heart and diaghram. So, for a conventional taser those hooks might have a tough time penetrating armor or resistant defenses.
  10. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... "Dude, I'm totally going to chew on your soul and floss with your intestines."
  11. Re: Answers & Questions Q. What's that dog doing on the lawn? A. But, these go to eleven.
  12. Re: Answers & Questions Q. What does a Keebler elf groom get a bachelor party? A. The happiest place on earth
  13. Re: An Alternate Superman If he had landed in Boston, the Sox would STILL never win a World Series. Could not resist. Sorry Red Sox nation. I'm a life long Yankee hater myself.
  14. Re: Stereotypical British Superman "Breath chillier than the Thames" "Quite a sturdy chap." invulnerability "Rather good in a scrap"
  15. The President of the United States is often described as being the most powerful man on earth. Does this hold true in your campaign world, or does the presence of supers make that an impossibility?
  16. Re: AVENGERS DISASSEMBLED opinions I have read the Avengers, off and on, for the better part of twenty five years and am of the opinion that this is a reversion to "event" comics that proliferated in the early to mid '90's (Death of Superman, Marriage of Spiderman). I think Blue is on the nose with the observation that the death of these mainstays is unnecessary. I get the distinct impression that the new Avengers line-up is a response to the JLA. D.C. has all their "biggies" in the JLA. Recognizable in their own right (for the most part) by the general public. The Avengers, with the exception of Cap and possibly Iron Man, is composed of "unknowns" to the general public. I believe Marvel is engaged in what is known as "brand building". They are attempting to capitalize on the successes of the Spider Man and X-Men movie franchises by adding recognizable characters to their flag ship hero group. Unfortunately, they are doing it at the expense of continuity. It's the kind of decision made by corporate types wearing suits. The success of Justice League on Catoon Network and the merchandising it generates is probably what they are looking at.
  17. Re: National Warrior Archetypes Thank you Southern Cross.
  18. Re: National Warrior Archetypes The Maori warrior is something I've kicked around in my head as a character concept. That war dance (forgive my ignorance; I don't know it's name) is pretty impressive.
