    The latest issue of ASM actually has a pretty satisfying response from Pete when Logan hassles him about his wife in a scandal rag. :eg:

     

    I missed that one. I can only follow so many comics at one time (budget restrictions), and I miss all of the good Logan bashing. And to think, those are often my favorite moments....

    Umm - And I have fought off two people - one to each side - with one sword. So what does that tell us? Certainly holding a second weapon increased my options slightly, but it sure as heck didn't increase my number of attacks any - it just made it easier to go one way or the other. A single Bo or Jo would have been just as good (better, actually).

    Paige was under the assumption one could not independently aim and attack with each weapon. I was saying one could. If one did get twice the attacks, the attacks would be a lot less powerful, like Rapier said. I was simply saying both weapons could be operated independently of each other.

    Anna Paquin is pretty. I have no idea why I like her so much. And it has nothing to do with her playing Rogue, because I liked her before that. I just wasted $7.50 watching a movie because she was in it. That's two hours of my life I will never get back. She highlighted her hair. I didn't like it. I just spent 2 hours and $7.50 to watch a movie where Anna Paquin dyed her hair. I am pathetic and my life is so empty that I really didn't miss anything by doing that.

    These agents were something else typical RPG Agents are not -- smart. They were used to dealing with super-powered opposition and knew how to deal with them. The one agent who stalked Violet pulled out many low-tech but highly effective tricks for trying to locate an invisble opponent, and was about ten seconds away from putting several bullets into her.

     

    By contrast, Dash and Violet were very inexperienced. They didn't know what they could do on the isnticitve level posessed by most PCs. Under life-threatening stress for the first time, they came very close to being overwhelmed by panic. Violet, for example, didn't realize that an invisble character who stays in one place will eventually be detected by a halfway-savvy opponent even without superpowers.

     

    Dash and Violet had NO training. Their parents evidently never expected them to find themselves in combat, certainly not while they were still children, and so they were not prepared at all. And it nearly got them both killed.

     

     

     

    And all that reminds me of why that was SUCH AN AWESOME MOVIE!!!!!!!! Sorry, I know it was a little off subject.

    Matter of fact' date=' when I went to start playing Hero again I still had the 4th edition book, but my player's had a 5th edition book, and the very first character one of my new player's presented to me was a 2 weapon-fighting specialist. I was like WHAT? I then looked at those rules and said NO WAY. I never even agreed with D&D's assessment that holding 2 weapons in your hands really give you double the attacks. It made no sense under AD&D's minute long rounds. It makes even less sense under Hero's 2 or 3 second phases.[/quote']

     

    That's funny, I've fought off two people, one on each side, with two swords, they each had one. I was able to independently aim and attack with each sword. I'm not saying it wasn't a pain, try fighting with peripheral vision, but I did it, and I beat them both. I'm not strong enough to do it with longswords or larger with great accuracy, but it can be done. I think you have a totally off base idea of how that stuff works.

    I just picked up the Hero system and WOW am I amazed. This is great. You can make whatever character you want. They allow you to do anything. So I was wondering if you guys could help me make Wolverine, only the coolest superhero ever. It would be sooo great to run a champions game where I could play Wolverine and kick everyones butt. It would be just like my character in City of Heroes. The fighting system seems a little complex, so I'm thinking about starting my group out with a simpler version, one more like D20. What do you think?

    I'm surprised we don't have a list of people and descriptions posted anywhere for the NGD board. Kind of a guide to the personalities that grace it. Northstar mentioned a Celestial/Infernal Hierarchy, but a simple cast list with bios might work as well. Maybe someone should make it. Maybe I should make it. Maybe I should go fix myself a sandwich. Yeah, that's it, a sandwich....

    Yeah. Brian got flashed and then stomped HARD by JLo. She critted.

     

    I should actually post this over on the quote of the week,

     

    Brian: "OH! My spleen! I'm gonna go grab a coke. Beep me if needed."

     

    LOL I thought it was going to be a simple "There can be only one Batman" fight. Foxbat hits me with a flash ping pong ball, that's fine I'll start whooping him next phase. Then J-Lo hits me with a mace. 85 stun armor piercing on a character made to not exceed any normal characteristic maximums. Oh yes, also only built on 300 points (instead of 350).
