So, is it small print runs?

It's not necessarily a matter of small print runs...

It's been a while since our last reprint of FREd so availability is limited at this point to waht the distributors have in their warehouses and what the retailers have on the shelves.

The Resource Kit is out of print and there is no plan for a reprint due to the extremely pricey cost per unit.

    Exactly.

As I was writing Firewing's story I needed something dramatic to end the fight besides Firewing just unloading with his AoE fireball. Since General Winter can a) create ice and snow and, B) TK ice and snow, it made sense to me that he could create ice from the water below (or even without the water at all, but icicles flying out of the water just seemed too cool to not write) and then hurl it at Firewing. His TK could surely splinter chunks of ice into any shape he wanted, including razor sharp shards.

Of all of the Showdowns that I have written, this one was the toughest, not because of lack of imagination or "cool things to write about", but because I only had 525 words to do it in. Give me unlimited words and that fight would STILL be going on. Good match up.

  3. Krikakik: "I think we should let them board us and then take them out in hand-to-hand combat."

Sampson: "Okay, we're going to do that."

    Jeddah: "Why?"

Sampson: "Cuz the Fex said so."

Cayley: "Okay, calm down. Take a deep breath and think about what you just said."

Krikakik, a diplomat, is notorious for coming up with completely outrageous and ridiculous courses of action. No one ever listens to him... well, usually.

I have a package deal that costs 5 points

The package deal gives me 50 points of skills, etc. and 30 points of disadvantages (don't worry if the points don't equal the package deal, it is just numbers for help).

The character guidelines is 200 + 100 points of Disads

I build my character with 195 points + 100 points of Disads

Do I then add the package deal for 5 points and everything is just fine?

It costs me only 5 points but I get 50 points worth of stuff, putting me over the 200 limit and my disads go up to 130.

In your example, the cost of the package deal would actually be 20 points (powers/skills/etc - disads). You would have 50 less points to spend (since you bought what was in the package deal) and would have to come up with 30 points less of disads.

In your case, you would need another 150 of powers, etc. and another 70 of disads. The package deal does not give you any point discounts, simply "things that you MUST buy".

Unless I'm missing something... which could definitely be the case

Ben, I'll take you up on that. Leave Thorn there.... I think that was colored just fine... I can get you all of Eurostar in color... that sound good?

Bring it on, Storn. The more the merrier. :)

Well, yeah, but what does that have to do with whether or not Alibear is in the book or not? And what does the Caped one have to do with it? And why is he being left to blame for something that is not his fault?

    Unleash the Tartan terror. Mwuhahaha!!!!

Why would you need to pummel the Caped Chameleon? He had absolutely nothing to do with the production of that book except for playtesting.
