Re: Tattered Plot Threads
Eh' date=' whatever. I consider it thinking outside a small box. I'm throwing out multiple ideas instead of harping on those given. [/quote']And I'm trying to have a discussion. I'm sorry you think that my opinions are so below yours that you can only respond with condescension and eye-rolling smilies.

Re: Tattered Plot Threads
Not necessarily true' date=' either. The castaways on [i']Gilligan's Island[/i] made themselves at home, as did the troops from Hogan's Heroes (who decided that staying as prisoners they could help the war effort better than escaping). Some, such as those on Lost realize there isn't a return and have started adjusting to their live.Comparing a cast of characters written by one or two scriptwriters with a plot resolution in mind to a cast of characters singly controlled by a number of different people with differing motivations and no plot resolution in their minds seems a bit applish/orangish.

Re: Tattered Plot Threads
You could even do the 'alternate Earth' thing' date=' where a world with slightly altered histories for those characters exists that would have them currently solo but in need of a new team.[/quote']I'd recommend this approach, myself, if only to avoid the "in world not their own" angst and possible ignoring of your plots in favor of that search for the leap home.

Re: Comics you loved...but apparently no one else did
Well' date=' I don't think it really got that bad until towards the final issues where they were desperate to keep the book afloat.[/quote']Really? I thought it was pretty early on that they revealed the main female lead as a spineless **** whose rationale for wearing skintight, revealing outfits was that the more aroused she got, the stronger she got.

Re: Comics you loved...but apparently no one else did
Hero Alliance (Innovation) A book ahead of it's time. It presented superheroes in a sophisticated' date=' semi-realistic enviroment long before Kurt Busiek's Astro City.[/quote']I seem to recall that book starting out interesting, but then quickly falling into the "slavering fan-boy writing at its worst" zone.

Re: Comics you loved...but apparently no one else did
So, in other words, to get a sales boost for one issue, they tossed out everything related to the 'real world' just to include Frank Castle?Or was this a non-Marvel Universe Frank who just shared the same name and vocation as the Punisher Frank?

Re: "Your Most Embaressing Game Mastering Moment"
Sadly enough it's an acronym for WithOut Papers' date=' used by the gov't to identify illegal immigrants in the early 20th Century. The racial slur didn't get popular for a few years yet.[/quote']Not so much...
(Tinyurls added because the board kept editing the real URLs.)

Re: Any interest in V&V converted to Champions?
Heya Agent' date=' I'm still using the old file so I'll probably be doing a little copy/paste action from your site. Would you mind taking a look at the first draft of the conversion doc when I get it finished?[/quote']I'll be glad to. I'm not the best person to ask when it comes to game mechanics and such, but I'm always happy to look at the other bits.
While we're on the subject, I may be firing up a PBeM set in Center City, with the PCs being legacy heroes from the team who took part in the original Crisis At Crusader's Citadel. I'm busting out the V&V rules for old time sake, but if you want me to let you know when things start, give me the word.

Re: Any interest in V&V converted to Champions?
Yeah' date=' the guy maintaining it asked me which one I wanted to use when I mailed about it. (Of course, it would be par for the course on this thread that Alwyn is the maintainer...)[/quote']Yeah, it would be funny if it turned out he was involved in this thread.

Re: Any interest in V&V converted to Champions?
I have it on good authority that the timeline has been updated recently.

Re: Any interest in V&V converted to Champions?
I haven't broached that subject as yet' date=' and I'm admittedly a little nervous. I think if I confined it to more background montages, I could probably get away with it.[/quote'] -
Re: Why we shouldn't worry about 2020
Well' date=' yeah, maybe the western show is in the same "timeline" as the crime drama, heck, maybe the town marshall [/quote']is the great great grandfather of the urban detectivebut if so, who cares?Tonto and Kato?

Re: Champions Christmas Adventure Seeds!
7. A Slaying Song Tonight: What do you get when you've got a serial killer who dresses like Santa, drives a sleigh of reindeer, and kills people by running them over with razor sharp sled blades?
A bad movie starring Bill Goldberg?
8. Merry Christmas, My Enemy!: One of the more honorable of your enemies, believing you're going to be alone this Christmas, invites you to a neutral country (i.e. where he can't be deported) to spend time together for Christmas. He promises a good Christmas dinner and the exchange of (non-lethal) gifts. Dare you trust him? Can even a supervillain celebrate the holy day in the spirit of the season? The Baron made Snoopy fly to the Rhine
And forced him to land behind the enemy lines
Snoopy was certain that this was the end
When the Baron cried out, "Merry Christmas, my friend"
The Baron then offered a holiday toast
And Snoopy, our hero, saluted his host
And then with a roar they were both on their way
Each knowing they'd meet on some other day.

Re: "Neat" Pictures
That's an impressive pic, alright, but...can you really see the differences in ocean depth like is shown in the pic? I don't recall ever seeing anything like that in other pics, though I admit I haven't been looking. For that matter, I see a definite lack of cloud cover, as well.
I'm not trying to "pick apart" the pic or say it's bad or anything, just commenting it seems a tad unusual and was wondering if anyone knew for sure...

Re: A Question on Liaisons
Contrary to what Hollywood would have you believe' date=' the Military (in general, no pun intended) is a meritocracy. People don't get put into positions for who they know, they are put there because of their skills/past performance. [/quote']Well, it's good to know they got that squared away since I was in the service...

Re: A Question on Liaisons
I saw that you made him a general's son' date=' still doesn't matter. He isn't even remotely qualified to serve in that position and the general would be brought up on charges for illegal command influence by JAG or the IG so fast it'd make his stars spin.[/quote']Wuzzat? People being appointed to government positions they're not qualified to have based solely on who they know or who they're related to? The devil you say! It's a good thing that sort of thing only happens in these imaginary worlds of ours.
