Re: Marvel Universe trivia
And you just know someone is going to buy someone else off with Hostess Twinkies and Fruit Pies....You leave me out of this.

Re: Marvel Second Stringers. Help me out.
Ben Reiley the Scartlett SpiderThat'd be a better example if the character hadn't returned from the dead to become the Scarlet Spider.

Re: Fictional Political Parties
What about using historical political parties (that is to say' date=' they are defunct), like the Federalists, or the American Party.I recall an old Marvel campaign where our characters had some dealings with the candidate of a revival of Teddy Roosevelt's Bull Moose Party.

Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
The Lord's Prayer is 66 words, the Gettysburg Address is 286 words, there are 1,322 words in the Declaration of Independence, but government regulations on the sale of cabbage total 26,911 words. From an article on the growth
of federal regulations in the

Re: The Warehouse
Well, Doc and the Boys would certainly qualify as "Top Men".

Re: Pulp Hero Cometh
Then I suggest you get a good policy from the Equitable Life Insurance Society of America...

Re: Working on a combined DC/Marvel universe
Some of the 40/50s stuff looked a bit Roy Thomas-y. Is it?All that stuff with the Ultra-Humanite and Americommando and Hitler's brain? James Robinson's The Golden Age

Re: Working on a combined DC/Marvel universe
On top of that' date=' how would Punisher and Batman get along in the same world? Seems to me, Punisher would kill all of Batman's nemesis' and put him out of a job, or lead Batman to hunting down Punisher to stop his spree of ultra-vigilante justice.[/quote']Not for nothing, but the Golden Age Batman was somewhat... cavalier when it came to the lives of his opponents.

Re: Moonquakes
If you want to have the Moon's orbit change to any perceptible degree you are going to have to give it a very powerful shove. Or else ignore the physics.Perhaps from out of space could come a runaway planet, hurtling between the Earth and the Moon, unleashing cosmic destruction.
Wait, 1994 has already come and gone, hasn't it?

Re: Re-imagining the Star Wars universe.
It's actually interesting the thing about making the Jedi more like Kurosawa Samurai' date=' since the first movie was a homage to the Hidden Fortress, was it not?[/quote']Star Wars was an homage to The Hidden Fortress the same way Yojimbo was an homage to Dashiel Hammett's Red Harvest. You take what you want from the earlier material and then hope that no one notices swipe. If no one does, you're labelled a genius; if they do, you call it an homage.

Re: Pulp Hero Cometh
To show my ignorance' date=' I didn't realize Sam Spade had appeared anywhere outside of The Maltese Falcon.[/quote']Oh, yes, Sam had quite the career in radio. You can listen to a couple of the shows here.

Re: What do with a player ...
I agree with what's been said. Very transparent tributes are one thing' date=' copies are another. Make it clear to the player that there character is not Captain Marvel. He may be similar, but he's not the same. And forewarn him - if he ever references CapM in the game, you will rain down upon him with holy vengeance.[/quote']And Cease & Desist Orders from Time-Warner.

Re: Feedback wanted on this background idea
I recommend a steady diet of spaghetti westerns and wandering samurai films.

Re: Fake TV-Shows
"How Not To Be Seen" was a government-produced instructional video, not a game show. (HM GOVERNMENT, PUBLIC SERVICE FILM NO. 42 PARA 6. 'HOW NOT TO BE SEEN')also from Monty Python was the game show "How Not to be Seen" -
