  1. Re: Give me a head with Hair! Are you thinking of wrapping around the neck, or forcing hair down their throat? We were trying to introduce Champions to new people in class back in high school. This was essentially one guys power. He could grow and shape his hair. No other abilities. His hair always looked great, though. Another fun but questionable ability is gliding, like a spider on a really long strand of web. Great visual, in my mind.
  2. Re: "Neat" Pictures Alas, no players. But it's one I'd definitely be up for if I get a group again. My old group had the kung fu expansion, and possibly my favorite combo: the folding steel chair of my grandfather!
  3. Re: "Neat" Pictures I saw a Munchkin expansion in the store the other day. Zombie Munchkin, I think? I miss that game, really one of the best games for pure fun out there.
  4. ... Long beautiful hair Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen Give me down to there, hair, shoulder length or longer Here baby, there, momma, everywhere, daddy, daddy With the recent outpouring of support for a character based upon prehensile hair in another thread, I thought I'd start an ideas thread. I created a prehensile hair character years ago, but I bet there are a lot of good ideas that I missed. The one idea that I loved (though nobody else seemed to care about) was using the hair as lockpicks. It could really manipulate any mechanical device easily with very fine precision. So, what you got?
  5. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Yesterday, i went to explore the local mall for the first time. I found a candy store that was going out of business. Everything was 75% off. I left with two pounds of bulk candy for $6, and that was pretty restrained. I got a lot of gummy things (been on a real gummy bears kick lately) and some imitation gourmet jelly beans. Bean flavors include French vanilla and Strawberry Cheesecake. I'm not a big jelly bean eater (since the Jelly Bean Incident of Easter '79) but these are different enough to try. I think this is actually the second time I found a candy store just as it was going out of business.
  6. Re: "Neat" Pictures That link is fantastic. Takes me back to my dreams of compiling a comprehensive collection for library school.
  7. Re: "Neat" Pictures A friend in college wrote the official rpg adaptation of the movie. I don't think anyone's ever actually played it.
  8. Re: "Neat" Pictures Sometimes your human is just out of range.
  9. Re: A Thread for Random Videos That is now the only way I would watch it.
  10. Re: "Neat" Pictures I felt compelled to post today's TeeFury shirt: The Giving Treebeard
  11. Re: A Thread for Random Musings The local hospital is affiliated with the university and has a lot of medical students in a wide variety of fields. Last week, I received an email saying they were looking for dental patients for students to practice on. Now, I haven't seen a dentist in years. Many years. And I have medical insurance now (Woohoo!) but not dental, so I swallow my fears and go by to be screened. They're looking for people with cavities, especially in the front teeth. I'm amazed to discover that I have none. I actually felt bad that I couldn't help them. Good to know my inferior regime of oral health care is paying off!
  12. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore What did you think I meant, the root?
  13. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore The extra dry ginger ale is very nice. Just as it says, it's not too sweet, but it's not under-sweet either. The ginger is very strong, there's a nice scent to it. It's not overwhelming, though. It makes you realize how little ginger flavor is in most of the commercial stuff. The texture is, if this makes any sense, soft. Or perhaps that's the dryness. My only real problem is one I have with most sodas these days. I'm so used to diet sodas and teas that regular sugared sodas feel very thick and syrupy to me. And they're expensive, so I won't be getting used to these anytime soon. The servings are small, though, so it'll make a nice treat for every once in a while. To bad they don't get the other flavors here, too. I'll have to ask about that.
  14. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore Went to get some of these at lunch today. All they had on the shelf was the extra dry ginger ale, but that's ok to start with because it's a flavor that was high on my list. It's chilling* now. *Awwwwwww yeeeeeaaahhhh.
  15. Re: Musings on Random Musings That's never going to heal if you keep picking at it.
  16. Re: "Neat" Pictures I don't know what Rapunzel's complaining about; the scenery is quite lovely.
  17. Trollhunter Watched this tonight. It's a Norwegian faux documentary about, umm, a trollhunter. Hans hunts trolls and giants (really big trolls) for the government. Kind of fun, kind of bizarre. Very dark visually and sometimes hard to make out the beasts, which suits the documentary style well. My TVs really too small to watch subtitled movies comfortably. It was interesting learning some Norwegian, though. "Ok" is the Norwegian word for "Ok" apparently. Who knew?
