  1. Re: Around the World With A New Character Each Week I'm still interested in Spain, but right now I can't write anything, lol. Talk about writer's block I started playing Champions Online, thinking it would help my imagination, but no such luck. If I don't deliver anything until the end of this week, feel free to use Spain.

  3. Re: Around the World With A New Character Each Week Just a quick update on my part. Due to work constraints I can only finish both entries near the end of month
  4. Re: Around the World With A New Character Each Week I can take São Tomé e Principe and Spain (if no one wants them, of course)
  5. Re: Around the World With A New Character Each Week Glad to see this thread back! It's strange, but I never got the notification of new posts until now, lol. Glad to see that you guys liked my characters...back in October As for Umuriro, Tribe is right - she's only concerned with Rwanda and she would only pay attention to threats to her country...but of course that could mean preemptive strikes against so-called "enemies" (these being other countries, superteams, etc...) And if there's any need for more bios...I'm game Just point me to the countries!
  6. Re: Are these old sourcebooks worth buying? I ended buying Mind Games and Coriolis Effect only. I lost the bids for the other ones
  7. Re: Are these old sourcebooks worth buying? Thanks of all the replies so far. I think I'll go for the Circle and METE; Mind Games; Coriolis Effect and Demons Rules
  8. I need your advice on this one. I've come across someone selling some old sourcebooks. I'm not a rpg player, but I like to read the books to get some inspiration for my own own superhero universe (my source of superhero fiction and future comic...I hope). So..which of these books are worth getting?: Road Kill Primus and Demon Demons Rule Coriolis Effect The Circle and M.E.T.E. C.L.O.W.N. Mind Games Thanks in advance for the help!
  9. Re: Lots of Volunteers... Tribe, I'll try my hand at Qatar and Rwanda. Do you have any preferences about them being villains/heroes or male/female? And I've also got a Russian villain - with ice powers. Can I send it to you for appreciation? I've also done another Portuguese guy - a heroe this time - but I see that you have already passed Portugal. Do you still want to take a look at him? And to finish with my questions, lol, is there any kind of "universe guide" that I can use, so my characters are compatible with your universe?
  10. Re: Around the World With A New Character Each Week Puerto Rico is riddled with good mysteries: http://www.strangemag.com/mystcreat.html - Chupacabras http://www.geocities.com/area51/shadowlands/6583/bases065.html - Secret UFO bases If you guys don't mind doing the stats, I could try my hand at a Puerto Rican hero
  11. Re: Have you written a story? I've started a whole superhero universe so I could write some short stories. At the time I worked on a comic shop, so I had plenty of readers (including from the guys who were translating the Marvel comics to Portuguese). It was nice to have that sort of honest feedback and reviews Unfortunately, I've changed workplaces since then and lost the will to write anything. Right now I'm trying to motivate myself to start writing again - wrote a short storie two weeks ago; wrote a Portuguese villain entry for Tribe's awesome thread; I'm writing more entries for my own universe.
  12. Re: Around the World With A New Character Each Week Tribe, did you receive my PM?
  13. Re: Around the World With A New Character Each Week Altough I don't play Champions (or any kind of rpg), I've been creating my own universe of superbeings for some time now. It's not centered in Portugal, but I've got a couple of Portuguese teams. There's a semi-official team (called "Panteão" - The Pantheon), consisting of 3 regular members and 2 others that help when they can (or when the situation is really getting out of control). They are recognized by the Government but don't receive any kind of support, so they had to get some private funding. All of them are mutants, but only 3 were born in Portugal. They are based in Lisbon, our capital. Their identities aren't a secret. The other team is called "Os Campeões" (The Champions ) and it's based in Oporto (my hometown). They are loved by the public, feared by the bad guys and wanted by the authorities. Only one of them is a mutant (a speedster), all the other ones are well-trained humans. Most of them try to keep their identities a secret. As for bad guys, my favourite is "O Encoberto" (The Hidden One) a depressed office worker who found an old Atlantean battlesuit in the Azores (there's a couple of legends linking the Azores to Atlantis), and returned to the mainland, saying he's the king who's going to save Portugal (it's another Portuguese legend). He's powerfull, but mad - the battlesuit interface is sapping his sanity. When the Portuguese heroes can't handle the situation, we can always call the Spanish team or the European one. tribe, if you are interested in any of my ideas, I can drop you a PM with further details
  14. Re: Around the World With A New Character Each Week tribe - If you need any help with Portuguese words/history, I can help you I'm looking forward to seeing your Portuguese heroes
  15. Re: Around the World With A New Character Each Week Kudos for your continuing work on all these characters, tribe!
  16. Re: Question: What different Game Systems for Superheroes? A friend of mine is always talking about this one: With Great Power Never heard of it before...
  17. Re: Supermax Prisons in Europe Metaphysician - in my setting, the world is still locked in a Cold War and many of the meta-humans are the result of military experiments and have some kind of military training (this aplies to both heros and villains). So the first European prison was constructed with that in mind. It had some very powerfull villains (some of them "prisoners of war" - superpowered KGB agents that were caught) there and the EC decided to build the supermax prison with that fail-safe device. When the big riot occured, it was activated and it destroyed half of Gibraltar... Of course there are several conspiracy nuts that say that the riot/breakout didn't even exist - it was a big public cold blooded execution and a way to send a message saying that the E.C. didn't have a problem in using nuclear weapons in their own soil, to "defend" themselves.
  18. Re: Knightshift Stories -- Campaign Log I only found this thread yesterday and I have to say that it's great. Nice players you've got there! And the way you write the logs is awesome. Repped!
  19. Re: A Universe to call my own Repped! Even without the art, it's a great read.
  20. Re: Supermax Prisons in Europe Thanks for the input, guys. I'll have to seach for that thread that death tribble mentioned. That sea forts info is interesting. Thanks for the links, alexraccoon and freakboy6117! kjamma4 - Let's say that constructing a prison in a "Phanton Zone" would be a very difficult task (in manpower, money etc...). It would be easier to just build those bombs that could open temporary one-way portals to there. That way - if I want to be nasty - I can always create some sort of malfunction of the failsafe device - it activates and sends the heroes (who were in a tour of the facilities/delivering a prisoner) and villains alike into the "Phanton Zone" Cancer, that Svalbard idea is great!
  21. Re: Supermax Prisons in Europe Two great ideas. Thanks, freakboy6117! They are taken from "The Prisoner" and from "The Wicker Man", right? Never thought about using stuff from movies and tv
  22. Re: Supermax Prisons in Europe Never thought about that one before - maybe some old mines in the Alps, hehehe. Thanks! (rep for you)
  23. I would really like to know your ideas about this one. In my universe there are several supermax prisons in the US and I'm thinking about creating one (or more) in Europe. There are lots of supervillains...lol Here's what I've got until now (some ideas are mine, other were discussed in another forum): - The first supermax prison was created in Gibraltar, but after a riot followed by the use of the failsafe device in the prison (a nuke) that led to inumerous civilian casualities, the idea of supermax facilities near population centers was dropped There are now several options: - Creating an underwater prison in the North Sea - Join several oil platforms and create a floating prison - Create a supermax prison in the Alps (like the American NORAD facility) - Create a mobile prison, using some old ballistic missile sub (maybe a Russian Typhoon or an US Navy Ohio-Class). It could be a great way to transport/hide those pesky very powerfull supervillains - Create a mobile prison using some sort of supertanker (Ultra-Large Crude Carriers or Liquid Gas Carriers). Of course it would be more visible than my previous idea...cough, cough. - Use transdimensional bombs as failsafe devices. In case of riot, just push the button and drop the bad guys and the prison in the Phanton Zone or something like that, lol. So...these are some ideas. Anyone care to contribute/discuss others?
  24. Re: History of the Super-Soldier Serum (need suggestions!) One idea that I'm using in my "universe" is taken from City of Heroes - a street drug (based in an old super-soldier serum) that gives its users power. In my case, the drug was based on a Nazi formula, found in a old bunker in Argentina by some drug dealers.
