  1. I have a player who wants to play charater who has two bodys, but one mind (duplication, no recombine). Both bodies are extensions of the same mind, which acts though two pair of hands, sees with four eyes, etc. The question is, what is the best way to build it so that when one of the pair sees somthing they both see it? For example, "Tway" (His terminology) #1 is in on the east coast, and "Tway" #2 is on the west coast, But the one mind is both visiting the Statue of Liberty and watching the Raiders get beat (again). Is this mind link or Clarisentinace? How much of a disadvantage is it "When one is attacked by mental power, both are." ( To reflect 1 mind ) How cheesy is it having 2 charactes with SPD 6 acting on alternating segments? This is the 1st time I've had a player with duplication, and I want to make sure everything stays balanced.
  2. 3750", I think. You have a point about the sound though. From that far there would be significant lag between the bullet and the sound.
  3. What would be the best way for a group to find her, seeing that she can nail you from about 7 klicks away? Given that I'll end up giving her some movement powers. She might be long gone by the time you get to where you think she is. The reason I'm asking is that I need to anticipate the various things my players might do.
  4. Your character has 24 resistant double hardened pd? Yeesh.
  5. I need some feedback on a new villan I'm unleashing on my unsuspecting heros. Supervillian teams bore them, Viper is a drag, Even our favorite Meglomanical Arch Superfiend is old hat. What I'm trying to do is make them afraid for their characters, really afraid. They've accumulated enough experince to be relativly unafraid of any regular stand-up superfight. I want to put the fear of death into them. Now, I haven't got all the particulars hammered out, but she's basicly a female shooter with minor gadget based powers, and characteristics at the high end of normal, with one really horrific sniper rifle... "Terminus Est" Rifle: 4d6 RKA, Armor Piercing x2 (+1), x5 Maximum Range (+1/4), No Range Modifier (+1/2), OAF Rifle (-1), 4 Charges, (-1) With this monstrosity, she can really "reach out and touch someone." She will also have appropriate powers to help her get away after the fact. In combination, this will make her one truely nasty hunted for the group. Now, I need a name for her, and some feeback on how people and their characters might respond. So, let's turn this into another "What would your character do?" Situation. The world this game takes place in as a mostly realistic modern near-future world. It's a nice sunny afternoon, your local supergroup is at the dedication ceremony to new the Library. Suddeny, a shot rings out, and one of your allies who was standing near the mayor drops to the ground. Chaos erups as the panicing normals scatter screaming.... You look up, and see the bright red dot of a laser sight on the Mayor's head... Edited for spelling and clarity
  6. Mm.. Get rid of the Oxygen Add one 1d6 Transform, Oxygen to Nothing Season with Uncontrolled, Continuous, 0 END. Megascale to taste. Or... Block out the Sun Start with one Darkness to the sight sense group. Again, season with 0 END, and Megascale to taste. Even.. Core it like an apple Start with tunneling 30"/30 DEF or so. Add Ramged, Increased range, and 0 END, and AoE.
  7. That'll learn me to read all the posts before replying...
  8. 30' x 30' x 30' room begins filling with a gas that is both explosive and toxic. There are a few hostages in with him. If he activates his powers to escape, the gas incinerates the hostages. If he doesn't, the toxic properties of the gas will kill them.
  9. It was a bad day all around. First, The PC's made a few tactical errors. Nothing insanely bad, but enough to put them into catch-up mode from the start. Then the dice went really cold for them. Then the bad guys started getting very good rolls. One of the bad guys with the grenade launcher took out the MA with one grenade. It irks me when a combat goes from "winable" to "I hope we get out of here with our skins" due to a couple of bad rolls. I hate that when It happens to me as a player, so I can understand how annoying it is for everyone when I'm GM'ing. But. What can you do? Dice are supposed to be random.
  10. That's one of the problems I have with KA's currently. twenty or so agents with 2d6-1 autofire RKA's can flat take down most of any super team, with possible exception of the team brick, and even he is going to more than likely be con-stunned, and that's simply not to genre. It gets even worse for characters who don't have a lot of reisistant defense, and count on missle deflection/high CV -- or the "not gettign hit" defense, as I call it. Sooner or later the dice are going to bite you in the ass, and off you go into negative body land... It gets even uglier when you factor in millitary hardware, like the SAW or a Barrett "Light 50". I think it's a bit strange when Superheros have no trouble taking out a team of super powered terrorists ( The Ultimates, in my current game.), yet they almost get completely wiped out by a group of Colombian drug runners with AK-47's and a couple of grenade launchers. Threadjacking? What? Who? Me? ..... Oops.
  11. I just thought of another way to build this power. It's a little off the walll, but how about Shrinking with Invisible Power Effects?
  12. Wow. That is quite honestly the coolest idea I've ever heard for introducing new players to the whole stun/body/end triad. Geting them used to the whole math of combat is half the trouble (The speed chart is the other half) especially when they come from a d20 system, and all they have to keep track of is HP.
  13. Re: Protean Form While an interesting concept, I think the whole viscosity thing adds excessive complexity. I'm not saying the idea is bad, it's not. I just don't think that's the solution I'm looking for. We have rotating GM's and getting everyone to agree on a power modifier is going to be easier than getting everyone to agree on adding a whole new power.
  14. Here's the thing though, does shapeshift explictly allow that? Would you allow a character who bought shapeshift to squeeze though a drain, or under a door? That really sounds like desolid to me. Sure, It could use work, but that's why I'm here. Heh. (And I agree, that looking at it, it should only be -1 or -3/4.)
  15. I'm thinking yes. Because the character we're working with in question has the power at 0 END, Persistant, Inherent, allways on, to reflect the fact that his body is allways like this -- Radiation accident in a plastic factory permanantly changed his body, this power, lots of stretching and shapeshift. This hasn't been a problem abuse-wise, at least not yet. I credit this mostly to the excellent group of role-players I have. They tend to think along the lines of "How will this help me roleplay better?" instead of "How can I tweak and abuse this rule as hard as I can for my own benifit."
