Leeks are great in potato soup' date=' but I'm not too sure about them as a pizza topping in combination with bacon & eggs.[/quote']

I think they'd probably work pretty well. I haven't done much with leeks, but I'm about to do a pizza this week, so maybe I'll do some experiments. Basically, instead of using green onions, which work well enough.

I'll let someone else try the bacon & egg, but that certainly looked like canadian bacon which is pretty standard.

I do wonder when the egg is added. Since it's still runny, probably close to the end. (maybe seperate?)

Hmm, looking at the photo, where are the leeks? The green looks like parsley (or cilantro) to me. Though if it's sliced stalk, that would blend with the cheese.

I have to write up a job description' date=' and I've decided to look up similar job postings for ideas. One I ran across listed the requirement of "emotionally stable." Am I wrong for laughing at that?[/quote']

Sounds like someone recently had to deal with the unstable, or that a particular office had a drama incident.

I'm not going to click on that link. I don't even want to contemplate the possibility that she(?) will have some kind of "turkey baster" there. :ugly:

No, but you're probably better off. I do like the teeth tongs that are on the top of the page, but the eye lid is IMO the creepiest. (And a couple others are definite Ew!)

Happy that I have four new pairs of Converse. Found a sale at the Vegas outlet, so got three low tops there (Green, Red, and Blue) for $75 and then ordered a pair of bright blue high tops from Oddball shoes in Portland.

Even with more options than I used to, finding size 17 shoes is not easy.

  5. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore

Was on a trip the last week. Last four nights was spent at the Paris in Vegas.

There's a Crepe place with some tables nearby, great for watching people, and on 12/12/12 the number of brides was quite something.

I think we went every night: Le Creparie

Butter & Cream, Fresh Berry, Blueberry Lemon, and Nutella were the desert ones tried.

Three cheese was the only savory one we had, but the others looked good.

Sorry the image quality isn't that good.

Probably too early to post here, but just got my wife a new computer. Used a couple old parts, but new Case, MB, CPU, HD and memory.

Loaded Kubuntu on it for now and everything is humming along. Backing up her old computer and turning it into the new firewall since it's time to retire the old one.

(It's a system from 1999 and it's having some age issues)

Haven't decided on which particular Linux or maybe BSD will go on it.

Then I'll reconfigure my laptop & desktops. I'll still keep a windows partition on the desktop, but I hardly boot into anymore.

I'm sure to be posting to the cranky thread during some part of the process, but for now, happy.

  7. Re: Interesting article about Sexism in Geek Communities

Meanwhile' date=' you have the really questionable "Save the Ta-Tas/Boobies/Melons" message for breast cancer awareness. Not "save the actual sufferers of breast cancer be they men or women", just the breasts themselves. 'Cause I tell ya, if a masectomy's gonna save my life, then bye-bye breasts.[/quote']

Yep. My wife is single breasted now. If a certain genetic test had come back positive, both would of gone. The save the etc makes good copy and hopefully gets early testing done a bit more, though more work is needed on that front for everyone.
