Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread
Yesterday was our 17th Wedding Anniversary. I feel very blessed over that.

Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute...
"Smudge" looks like a perfect name for him.Her name is Cathy. (Named for a friend who passed away the same day I found the kitten)

Re: Creepy Pics.
I thought Scrooge just paid off some people to keep the problem out of the papers.

Re: The cranky thread
Thanks. And someday, I'll be able to give you rep again.

Re: And now, for your daily dose of cute...
I still haven't found out how our foster kitten did at her first adoption event last weekend. Hoping to get the current foster spayed soon and out the door near the end of October with a friend who is interested. Which is when our hospice foster cat is going home after four years of being in our home. (We'll keep our guest room cat free for a bit so my wife can setup her crafts finally)

Re: The cranky thread
Reading a book on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I'm cranky because it hits me' date=' "Why didn't I read this friggin' thing DECADES ago?" A very strong recommendation for anyone plagued by negative thoughts, depression, anxiety, obsession, etc. Hopcroft, I'm looking in your direction. [/quote']What's the book? I'm going thru some depression lately, but I'm pretty sure I know the root cause on that one right now. (Getting something done about it, trickier atm)

Re: And Now for Something Slightly Different: Mis-Spelled and Reimagined Supers
Sam Bell had a write up of The Sulk. The sadder he gets, the stronger he gets.

Re: Why Your Heroes Shouldn't Kill
+1 on Tasha.
And Kahuna is correct about him being based on the Question. (Loosely like all of the Watchmen)

Re: Possible City of Heroes campaign
Well' date=' if you plan to play it, play it now. It's not gonna be around for too much longer.[/quote']Oh I know. I just haven't had time.

Very cool Planet P video.

Re: Interesting article about Sexism in Geek Communities
I'll admit to taking a "butt" shot while in Yellowstone. Not a great photo, and it was because of this girl in high heels, ruffled skirt, sparkly hose, and other fashion attire that would of been more in place in a night club instead of on a hiking trail.

Re: The cranky thread
A good friend of mine died recently from cancer. Someone I know wants to put together a remembrance for her. Thing is, my friend hated this woman because of the various back stabbing things she's done to make herself look good and to make a few others look bad. (Including my friend). (Oh, and she's started doing this without the family's knowledge who have already started setting something else up.)
I'm staying away from commenting in public about it (well, outside of here), but two faced people make me very cranky.

Re: Possible City of Heroes campaign
Sounds cool.
I would just do a campaign with the story background, but I wouldn't try to jam the powers into Hero.
I was thinking on converting some of my chars back into Hero from CoX just for the heck of it, but have some other projects to finish before I even start. (Haven't even had a chance to play CoX the last few weeks except for a brief evening)

Re: The cranky thread
Explain to me why after using the net happily it drops the link to Hero Games when I was about to rep people roughly 11:00 am Eastern Standard Time. I could get to other sites but not Hero. Ho hum.And I tries for about 45 minutes....
Every once in awhile, I've had that happen as well.

Re: What Have You Watched Recently?
Ed Sullivan can't have been comfortable with the integral role he ended up playing in the rock-and-roll revolution. He was fully bought in to the Establishment and was square as square can be. Yet he managed to bring both Elvis Presley and the Beatles to the public consciousness in indelible ways, despite notoriously filming Presley only from the waist up because his gyrating dance moves were considered scandalous and occasionally censoring the lyrics of artists who came on his show (like the Rolling Stones). There were about half-a-dozen other acts on the episode where the Beatles debuted. I believe Frank Gorshin, who would go on to be the Riddler on Batman, was one of them as a comedian and impressionist. For these performers, who were ignored or worse by a studio audience only there to see the Fab Four, doing the show was a miserable experience and little help to their careers (musicians weren't the only ones trying to turn to Sullivan for a publicity boost).
Yea, that's why Sullivan had them on the show several times, and agreed to introduce them at Shea Stadium...

Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore
I think I posted it earlier, but I've done faux dark and stormies with ginger syrup, seltzer, and rum. The syrup is a pleasant by-product of making homemade candied ginger."Yazi" is a ginger flavored vodka my brother got me a bottle of a few years ago. Makes for a nice ginger martini, with a little slice of pickled ginger (like you get with sushi) rather then the olive.
Yea, I noticed that the ginger slices worked very well as candied as well.

I like the cleavage light. It's Burning Man, of course there's cleavage light.

Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore
Wouldn't get me drunk at all. (Just because gin makes me throw up instantly)
Sounds nifty though.
I've been playing with recreating a Ginger Margarita. (Mainly Ginger syrup made by boiling down a sugar solution with ginger slices in it and straining it and using lime juice, and tequila.)

Re: "Neat" Pictures
Whoa. I skimmed it earlier, totally missed some of the aerial and underground bits.

Re: The cranky thread
I said the heck with doing photo prints at home finally and now have a nice little laserjet that's cheaper to run and I don't fuss with color at all.
