voodoo54 got a reaction from KawangaKid in Good Pulp Movies to watch
Was thinking of getting motivated to run a Pulp campaign and was wondering what good Pulp films are out there to watch. This is what I've come up with so far:

    1. Raiders of the Lost Ark
    2. Temple of Doom
    3. The Last Crusade
    4. King Kong (2005)
    5. The Mummy (1999)
    6. The Mummy Returns (2001)

I left kingdom of the Crystal Skull out intentionally since it takes place in the 50's but it still might fit because of the story. I know there are more Pulp films out there. I googled pulp movies but the only thing that comes up is Quentin Tarentino's very unpulp movie.

Find an old thread in this forum called "Pulparize It" and check out what's in there, too, for more ideas.

Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze, starring Ron Ely: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doc_Savage:_The_Man_of_Bronze . Rather campy, but visually faithful, and many of the gimmicks from the Doc Savage novels were translated to it,

Movies that have elements you could certainly use include

The Maltese Falcon for more of an intrigue-type story.

Romancing the Stone has some useable parts, too.

While it has some issues I'd still recommend The Phantom, with Billy Zane, Treat Williams, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Kristy Swanson.

Okay so besides my earlier list I have,

    The Shadow
    The Phantom
    Sky Captain
    The Rocketeer
    The Maltese Falcon
    Romancing the Stone
    Doc Savage

Thanks for the input, some of these I have seen and some not and some its been a long time so I probably need to watch them again. Anything else out there let me know!
