  1. Okay, so I found two guys that want to play Champions and I've designed this city that rivals Atlanta. It's on the Eastern Coast. The following are the nuts and bolts. Next Sunday is my first session, and I want to make it good. The PC's are a four armed mutant pirate who (GM controlled) owns a flying ship that he wants to use as a base. Next is a powerarmored PC who is a scientist with cryogenics and 3 basic ice attacks: EB, RKA, Entangle. Next is a typical brick who is a very good looking version of The Thing. The last PC is a mentalist. Each guy is playing 2 characters (so we can have a team going). Anyways, read what I have and if you have any suggestions please give them. The first session will be dealing with Hydra robbing a bank with some super villains hired to be the muscle. They all have open hunteds and reputations since this will be their first appearance in Paramount. Champions Campaign- Paramount City Paramount city is a city of 5 million. It is located on the eastern coast seaboard in the state of South Carolina. It rivals the southern city of Atlanta. It has skyscrapers and high rise buildings. It is a very prosperous rich city. It has a major seaport onto the Atlantic. It is 200 miles south of Metropolis and 300 miles south of New York City. Locations: Seatown: This is the section of the city that is close to the ocean. It has several ports and docks. There are seafood restaurants, fish markets, warehouses. There is the Brady naval base. There are several immigrants living in this area, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese. The major shippers are B&H, Gromwell, Nakura, and Mallachi. Due to the large numbers of Asians, it is also nicknamed Little Asia. Downtown: Downtown is where the major businesses like banks, real estate, law firms, etc. This is a place of big money. The rich work in opulent buildings. The hotels are all 5 star. The restaurants are rich. Hightown: This is where the rich and wealthy live in their luxurious penthouses, apartments, and skyscrapers. Both Downtown and Hightown are in the center of the metropolis. Lowtown: This is the poor section of the city where crime rates rocket and the poor live and work. Techtown: This is in the northern part of the city where the leading inventors and industries are. Stark Enterprises leads the industry, followed by Stane International, Hammer Corp, Polytech, Rusk Technologies, Argent & Stone, and STAR Labs. Corporate espionage and high tech thefts are known to happen, so security is tight at each of these places. Midtown: Located between Lowtown and Hightown is where the middle class live and work in any number of businesses. AndersonPark: This city park is 2 miles long and two miles wide. Many citizens use the park, but most leave by sundown because the street gangs take over at night. M Village: There is a significant proportion of mutants in the city who have moved into a section that is on the border of Lowtown. Theme: Superhero Dimension: This is an Earth where there is an amalgam of the DC universe and the Marvel Universe, and the Champions universe. Superheroes: Yes, there is a Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman, along with the Justice League. They operate from an orbital space station. There is a chance that the heroes will meet these legends. There are also the Avengers, based in New York City, with Captain America as the leader. There is also the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. Villains: There are villains that range from mutants, to mystics, to aliens, to machines. They will come from DC and Marvel, and some from the Champions universe. Here is a list of Villain groups and organizations: The Fearsome Four, The Brotherhood of Evil, The Masters of Evil, The Mutant Liberation Front, The Fatal Five, DEMON (evil mystics), Purity (racist mutant haters), The Crowns of Krim, Hydra, the Secret Society. PC: Player Characters have the option of playing any type of character they want. They can play an alien just landed, a street vigilante, a magic user, reformed villain, a mutant, a new superhero, a scientist, a dimensional crossing elf, dwarf, drow, or any type of character. What is important is that you have a good working concept and story for your character. Adventures: The campaigns will not just simply be set in this Earth, but you will travel dimensions, time, and space. You will fight villains, dimensional conquerors, evil mages, mutants, aliens, and the undead. Character traits: The following are averages for the character traits you want to look at. Str- 20 is maximum human- 90 is the limit for this campaign Dex- most Dex start at 20 and go to 23 or 27 Con- average is 20-25 Body- 10-20 Ego- 10- 23 PD- 15-35 limit ED- 15-35 limit Spd- 5-7 End- your choice Stun- your choice There is a cap of 60 active points on any power. Remember, if you have a high powered attack, be prepared to face enemies who will have the same. People and places of interest: The mayor of Paramount city is Daniel Flanagan. He is a progressive, forward thinking conservative who is pro business. His office is staffed by various aids who represent the wide variety of the population of Paramount. Of particular interest is a public mutant name Arthur Brand (he has blue skin) who is a voice for M Village. Flanagan is a staunch supporter of mutant rights and immigration. Mama Juju- located in Lowtown, this small shop caters to the Jamacan population that lives in Lowtown. It is said that Mama Juju is a psychic and she can read your past, present, and future. Near Cape Pennington is a NASA research and development lab. Pennington naval base- located 5 miles south of Paramount I give you weekly updates to see how things are going. Thanks in advance for the help.
  2. So I had my players over to create their characters and one of them raised a question that I couldn't figure out. When you use autofire, do you automatically use all five shots and spend all that end or can you limit it to say three shots and only spend end x 3?
  3. Ok, I was reading the big book today and came across something that has me really confused. If I'm reading this right, then I've been playing defenses all wrong. The killing attack and stun. I read that you can add resistant def and normal def against killing attack stun. Does this mean that Iron Man with 35 PD/ED Armor gets hit with a KA that does 98 Stun on a multiplier. So I add 35 plus 35 for 70 vs 98 stun? Or Mighty man with 40 pd and 20 resistant. The bullet does 58 Stun and I add 40 plus 20 for 60 vs 58 stun? I've always played with the normal stun vs KA stun. So Iron Man would have 35 PD vs 98 stun. I mean a killing attack should be a serious stun consequence. If you do add resistant plus normal vs KA stun, then what's the point of a stun multiplier?
  4. Is there a format for doing mass group combat? Like armies and such?
  5. Does Hero have a book about the Atlantean Age?
  6. I've seen you guys mention this. Would you explain to me what they are?
  7. Re: The soul Okay, see I got this idea for a character. I call him Phantasm. He is a collection of souls that were bound together in the destruction of a dimension of psychics. So I'm trying to figure out how to write him up. He absorbs lost souls, and when he takes body, he loses souls. So I'm trying to figure out how to write up a soul or a collection of souls.
  8. Re: The soul AI computer rules, interesting. BTW, what does inherent advantage mean?
  9. Ok, I just got the Turakian age book but I didn't find Kal Turak in there! Am I supposed to write him up on my own?
  10. Re: build me a cosmic sense Thanks, that helps a lot
  11. Re: The soul I'm thinking about my PC's encountering lost souls. Would they have body based on ego and int? Desol of course. Full life support? I'm trying to conceptualize how to write up a soul form.
  12. Re: God Package... Crowd chanting "We want more! We want more! We want more!"
  13. How would you quantify the soul in the terms of characteristics and gameplay? Is it ego? Body? Int?
  14. I've got this NPC I'm writing who is able to travel through the time stream and alternate earths. He's been cosmically enhanced so he has a kind of cosmic awareness when he lands in a timeline and he knows basically what's going on at the moment. How would I write this?
  15. Re: Build me an a'dam Okay, I was thinking of the a'dam as how it would translate into a regular magic artifact. How would you write up the a'dam to be used on a magic user? I'm going to run a campaign where my PCs meet a sorceror who has other sorcerors collared with an a'dam. How would you write it up?
  16. Re: Build me a madness dagger No, this is a function of the dagger. They suffer from various types of insanity, each person may experience hallucinations, or paranoia, delusions. Basically it is a psychotic break with reality. The effect builds over the period of a day. The defense would be having a strong will, I think. But even then, the madness drains that away until you are incapacitated. Perhaps mental defense is a good defense against this. The effects would be long term. It could be healed back with with an aid to Ego or a special mental healing. A telepath could help stabilize the person and regain their sanity. That would be an adventure in and of itself. I'm thinking the telepath could be in danger at first of succumbing to the insanity unless they have a strong ego. You guys are helping a lot. Thanks.
  17. Re: Build me a madness dagger take your time, I won't get back on the board until tommorrow night.
  18. For anyone who follows the Wheel of Time, the a'dam is a collar linked to a bracelet. The collar wearer must follow the verbal directions of the bracelet holder. If they try to take off the collar, they experience severe pain to the point of unconsciousness. Of course, they can't refuse the verbal commands. If the bracelet is hung up on a wall, they cannot even touch the bracelet without experiencing severe pain. The collar wearer's only hope is for someone to take off the collar. So how would I write this up?
  19. This is a dagger that, when it cuts you, you soon suffer from any type of insanity, hallucinations, delusions, panic attacks, the whole shebang. It's a weapon that I came up with in a story I'm writing, but I don't know how to construct it.

  24. OK, I know this is a simple question, but I couldn't figure it out from the big book. The Hulk with a 90 Str punches Spiderman with 40 str. Spidey chooses to block, does he block 40 Str and take 10d6 damage? I'm wondering about the martial block that aborts the attack. Kung fu Chee has 20 Str and 4 DC. He gets punched by the Hulk. Are you telling me that he aborts Hulk's block? Help me out here.
