  1. okay, so I'm considering on starting a new club. I don't have 6th edition (and let's face it, it doesn't have many supplements) But. What I do have is mostly 5th edition or before. I am missing some of the first (1-3) edition. But have a ton of 4th. But I am curious, how much work is involved in maintaining a club? Is it worth the effort?
  2. Now that's a good idea. Thanks
  3. I have an overall plot for the wand and last night, I had a brilliant idea. I just hope the heroes go with it. I just needed an alternative, "just" in case they get the wand
  4. I'm going to have 2 members of the Devil's advocate try to steal the wand. 2 possible outcomes. 1 they don't get the wand. 2 they do get the wand More than likely, number 2... but then what? Suggestions?
  5. Right now they are in the professor's office with the very magical wand. First, I'm going to have one character's friend from his job call him and ask him why his car is abandoned on the bridge. Got to get those disads in. LOL Then I'll have someone go to the university and attack them. The problem is that I have two potential groups. One is the Devil's Advocate, from Creatures of the Night and Arcane Adversaries, or Harpy from Anarchy and Witchfinder since they both hate magic and can detect it. And if Harpy is there, that means Anarchy is waiting for them. I haven't decided which. Either way the group has to figure out what to do with the wand. I made it obvious they can't just break it. (That's what happened to Pompeii) and it radiates to much magic (it's presently in a magic box that dampens magic and detect magic, but doesn't get rid of it.) Now, the professor will need access to it so, he can figure out a way to disarm it safely. So, he will need someplace that he can access it and examine it, but every time they take it out of the box, it's like... well.. opening Pandora's box. It's like sending a signal to every detect magic individual out there. Basically, I'm going to have the heroes decide what to do with the wand. Give them a chance to discuss it out. I'll probably give them JUST enough time to figure out what to do with the wand... and then the university gets attacked. And, let me just say this wand is just the tip of the iceberg, but I want to keep a few secrets.
  6. Besides Witchhunter and Harpy are there any other established villains that hate magic, yet can detect magic?
  7. Well, Saturday, I GMed my very first time It was challenging, but fun. First I established the one with magic, was contacted by the head of the University paranormal studies. The man's name was Drake Shelton, and he was expecting a potentially magical artifact from the ruins of Pompeii So, I had one character driving with his DNPC, one in his secret ID, driving and one flying over a bridge that was partially under construction While heading over the bridge, they saw a vortex about the size of a football stadium appear in the sky. 12 giant, car sized, spiders fall out, but 3 fall into the water. (Or so it seems) 3 fell onto the tower that spans over the bridge, and the other 6, land on the bridge. A fight ensued. A worker got bit and a driver got hurt. The spiders were relatively easy to stun and knock out. One thing that threw me off was the DNPC knew the hero's identity. I was hoping to play that out a little. The heroes found a box in the back of the UPS truck that was magical and headed to Drake Shelton They opened the box with Drake and it was a very powerful magic wand. It radiates magic and basically they just let everyone who can detect magic know that they had a very powerful magic artifact. Even after closing the box, they could feel the magic. Of course, this is a very abbreviated version of what happened, but you get the idea

  9. I know when you fall 150 ft (46m aprox) you take 23d6 But what if you fall into water? Without breakfall, acrobatics, diving, or anything else. Just curious Would you take any damage? Less damage? Or the same damage?
  10. Actually I don't want the individual in question to have any control what comes out or have any control over them. What pops out would be GM's discretion... and since I'd be GM... Cue evil laugh
  11. What about changing it to an extra dimensional gate? Would that be cheating?
  12. I like the indirect idea and IPE "may" obscure the path from the focus to the summoning character But it looks like I'll have to go inobvious if I want to follow the rules.
  13. Can you conceal an Obvious focus?
  14. Okay. Let's say that the bad guy wants a summon power, but he doesn't want anyone know he's the one doing it. But the power comes from an OAF. Does IPE still exists?
  15. I only have 5th edition and not all the books. According to 5th, if a character summons something, it appears right next to them in the largest space available. But I want it to appear 30m away so it's not obvious which individual is summoning the creatures. So. Would Ranged work or Indirect or would I need both?
  16. I did not know that. Thanks
  17. Ok. I've been looking over some of the original Enemies characters. Many have had a slight adjustment in Classic Enemies. And I've especially been looking at Panda and Raccoon. And I'm thinking 'how would I update them'? First, I'd put Panda's Mental defense outside of her multipower and give her more Ego Attack in her MP. (Like does body, reduced END, penetrating, etc) For Raccoon, I'd give him Shrinking (to Raccoon size) and may even give him a rabies bite (just for fun) But that made me wonder. Who would you upgrade from an older book, and how would you upgrade them?
  18. I was looking through the original "island of Dr. Destroyer" and I see Panda and Raccoon there! Even though I'd add Shrinking to Raccoon, (raccoon size) just to make him more original.
  19. I'll have to see if I can find Stonghammer for another plot. Cue devious laughter
  20. Did they ever upgrade Panda and Raccoon?
  21. Fire wing was affected by magic, but a whole lot of villains were vulnerable to fire.
  22. Wait! YOu are telling me Firewing had a vulnerability to... Fire???? LOL, Are you serious?
