Re: The Badass Sewage Collector, or, "THEY became a hero?"
Paksenarrion was a Shepherds daughter who ended up a paladin of 4-5 different gods (at the same time)

Re: Comprehensive list of advantages and Limitations
thanks tons

Does such a creature exist. While I have owned hero for several years, I purchased the 5th Ed Revised some few weeks before 6th ed was announced, which placed learning that system on the back burner for a year or so.
I am seriously considering running a hero game, yet as I am reading through the 6th ed books it seems the advantages and limitations are mentioned scattershot through out the books as various powers are discussed, but there is no single chart/list format that I have seen so far.

Re: Catalog of Fantasy RPG Settings
I would highly suggest David Weber's War God series setting of Norfressa
The first 2 books are available free from the baen site in HTML, RTF and M$ reader formatting
Some of the most enjoyable fantasy reading I've had in years

Re: Eve-Online tabletop edition?
Well to be honest. its only 1400mm artillery, concidered to be lower tech then the other races, most of their ships are cobbled together from the scrap heap with spot welding and duct tape..
and it was a great way to recycle all them ford focuses...
Gunnery sergeant.. fire the ford focus.. err cannons..

OK it cost endurance to move, depending on how far for each phase
It cost endurance for using your strength per phase, 1/10 for super heroic, 1.5 for
heroic,
Does using your dex cost endurance (say madly dodging 4-5 mooks) ?
and is there a list of everything that costs endurance to use in a turn
Im trying to pin down all the combat variables in my head for familiarity
So far
Dice
Phases of actions
Dex of players/npcs for actions
OCV/DCV - ECV/DECV
Applicaple adders/penalties, vulnerabilities and resistances, armor etc
Body
Stun
Endurance
Range
So A player who moves (Spends endurance) and attacks a mook (str end cost)
using a sword
what else does a player have to track end wise during combat wise
now it seems that abilities that cost a stated end to use/activate are pretty apparent
but moving cost end, as does simply attacking using a sword/throwing a brick/car etc
what else woudl cost end? dodging etc?
is there a list of all the variables to track in combat somewhere?

Quote 5ER, Page 7
Dice and Dice rolling, Paragraph 3
Whenever you attempt any 3d6 roll, whether an Attack roll, Skill roll, Characteristic roll, or other roll. A result of 3 (three ones) always hits or succeeds; a result of 18 (three sixes) always misses or fails. The GM sould consider giving a character some advantage when the player rolls a 3 and some disadvantage for rolling an 18.
Nowhere in the glossare is the word critical mentioned, no in the index
The Ultimate Skill P 16-17
The core dice mechanic description is changed to
A result of 3 on a skill roll always indicates a spectacular success, known as a critical success in game terms.
A result of 18 on a skill roll always indicates a spectacular failure, known as a critical failure.
This seems a stark change from the core mechanic, concidering specific bonuses and penalties, duration changes are listed.
I am well aware I could ignore said bonuses/penalties, but currently as I am new to the system as a whole, I am not aware of the changes it would do to the feel of the system as a whole.

Re: ~ All Out War~d&d Vs Hero Vs Palladium
Well it depends on what criteria youd use to determine the winner
By sheer number of books sold..
Dnd by far
If you add the "rules systems youre *required* to have a passing familiarity with"
DnD again
Shall we mention retail space?
Most of my local is mini/wargame space
D20 takes up over 60% of the book shelf
Hero is tossed in the corner with palladium, mechwarrior and some startrek game
To be fair I did see a copy of PA Hero on the new books rack, behind 4 rows of D20 et al...
I can look at the gamer board at my local shop
last saturday
12 D20 variants
5 minis
2 ccg
1 supers.. palladium version
Under the players seeking games
Hero got a mention twice as alternate systems ppl are willing to play
as for me
RM2/RMSS is my preferred system, still trying to make sense of hero

Two questions (DCV Penalty Skill Levels and ½ DCV // Killing Strike and high STR)

Re: Two questions (DCV Penalty Skill Levels and ½ DCV // Killing Strike and high STR)
Given the cinematic nature of hero, Knives aren't supposed to be deadly dangerous, except to Joe average wearing no armor.
Armor is usually great protection against knives, they are largely why armor was invented.. then someone invented the bigger knife (short sword) and the escalation vs armor begins
And Mr Obvious points to 6E2, 108.
Introduce Hit locations and the knives become suddenly much more dangerous
