  1. Re: Indiana Jones opportunity?

"Striking while the iron is hot"... that's usually a good thing, from a promotional "point of view" at the very least.

You don't have to actually purchase the "license" to take advantage of what's the hot property. I agree with Doc Shadow here. The theatrical release of IRON-MAN in 2008 would definitely create/generate some excitement for the sourcebook Ultimate Armor, as would the release of major Pulp Hero materials to coincide with the release of Indiana Jones IV... but we will see.

You wouldn't want to rush a project, just to push it out the door in time, but there is no denying that it would be beneficial to the "fan base" to get these "theme-oriented" products out there... while the excitement for them is at its apex.

  2. Re: Hudson City Map now in the online store

Well, I purchased it Thursday evening.

It's the first (and probably only) PDF I have actually purchased. I must admit it... the resolution is quite astounding.

I plan on hopefully having it printed at FedEx/Kinkos, maybe print two copies. One, I'll laminate and use for gaming... and one I'll frame, and hang on the wall.

It was well worth the 10 smackeroos.

  3. Re: 10 Real-life Superheroes

I got the same thing in Firefox and Safari. I had to use IE on a PC.
As a Firefox user, I experienced the same problem.

If you install IE Tab, you can view it in Firefox as if you were running Internet Explorer.

It's one of the better "add ons" for the browser.

  4. Re: Military medals

I guess, like any award... it's "subject to interpretation".

What the individual deciding body determines as "deserving", is the basis for the award... subject to the definition laid out before the deciding body.

  5. Re: Military medals

This will show the various ribbons/medal that war awarded to U.S. Servicemen.

    http://www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil/Awards/Ribbons/OrderofPrecedence.htm

If you click the link on each individual award/medal, it leads to a page which explains the award/ribbon, and the criteria used to determine when it is awarded to a serviceman.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Re: Secret Identities and Teammates

One player should not be allowed to badger and railroad everyone else into forcing to do his style of play.

    How true...

When the game starts being dominated by the will or desires of ONE PERSON, the "fun factor" drops off for all players involved in the game.

It's okay for the short term, to focus on one person alone, but everyone must get their "fair share as well.

  7. Re: Secret Identities and Teammates

Even so' date=' it doesn't excuse the action. Metagaming IS metagaming.[/quote']

    It is... what it is.

If you believe it to be Metagaming... say so. State your case to the group, as a whole, and resolve the issue. Tell them what you are seeing, communicate your points clearly, and maybe the situation will change... or perhaps not.

At least you will have gotten it off your chest.

  8. Re: Secret Identities and Teammates

This is a debate that has probably gone on as long as there have been "superheroes", and the secrets they keep.

Some may feel a certain sense of trepidation, when it comes to "taking off the mask"... and this is in many cases truly valid, from the character's point of view.

    For my "two cents"...

Some of the greatest role-playing experiences in superhero gaming is gotten just over the debate of this fact. The whole debate, and such things as the enacting of a SUPERHERO REGISTRATION ACT in a game can make things quite interesting, but it can also drive a wedge between the characters as well (see Marvel's CIVIL WAR as to the type of effect this can have).

But, this must be for the players and GM to decide within the confines of their game, and character's persona.

  9. Re: Matt Hoyle’s Encounters

This is my first day back since Dec 1st, 2006. I haven't done this for a long time.

Kuddos to you for the interesting find. I'd give some REP... for what it's worth, but apparently I can't. You are one of the last few I REPPED before I left.

  10. Re: I know SOMEONE has done this...

.. We're taking a break form FH for a bit, and decided on Champions instead of Pulp Hero!

Here's the thing: they are making Competent Normals, then I'm springing their Origin on them in the first episode. A super-powered fight will spill over into their normal lives and chaos will ensue. They do not know I'm doing this. They think it's just 50 pointers in a Super-Powered World.

Anyone ever done this? Should I seek professional help?

    Fantastic Four anyone?
