  1. Hello, i run a champions game on wednessday and have a player with a ninja group as a hunted. rather then it being a general group i thought i would right it up as a Kingdom from ultimate base thus giving the player different ways to 'attack' it.. political.. economic and so on. now i am having a hard time wrapping my brain around Kingdoms and was wondering has anyone created any i could view as an example. can be from any genre. i just want to see an example.

    thank you.

  2. Re: Book of the Empress

Just got it myself after being a total idiot on kickstarter (I.. put in the wrong email address.. was wondering why I never got any of the updates to project...)

So far looks great and thanks to Steve for helping me out when I realized my mistake

  3. Re: how to block a teleporter

Assuming they are actually to far away to teleport back to the fixed location....

Huge Snow Storm - Its coming down.. Heavy for Miles (Kilometers) in ever direction. If they teleport into it. Its pretty much 'teleporting into a solid object" Aka.. The snow.

    Hows that?

  4. Re: Anime series as a campaign

Plus' date=' our hero crossdresses frequently for plot-related reasons. (The director had originally wanted to do a female Gundam pilot as the main character for the first time ever, but was vetoed. So he came up with this plotline to get as close to his original vision as possible.)[/quote']

Dual! Parallel Trouble - its got everything, Parallel universes, Mecha, Cross Dressing (except for the main character all the pilots are female -- males can't pilot mecha), plot lines that make little to no sense, and of coarse.. Light Hawk Wings!

  5. Re: Champions 6th version

I'll have to agree with CrosshairCollie there are a lot of us who may be sticking with 5th Edition.

Ditto - hate to say it but money is to tight now adays to buy another version of a game I already own.

  6. Re: Kryptonian knockoffs in CU?

Unfortunately' date=' Viperia's a magical entity, not an alien (and rather singular), so she's out. :)[/quote']

She magical in nature - but she is still (as far as I can tell) very much based on supergirl or power girl

  7. Re: NND and Entangle

True' date=' but the 800 point master villain is considerably more likely to have countering EDM or time manipulation abilities than Flo from Mel's Diner.[/quote']

I don't know.. Never underestimate the power of Flo's Grits....

  8. Re: NND and Entangle

The Mystic World has an expanded write-up for Extra-Dimensional Movement that includes granularity for time travel depending on how wide a range of target time one wants. That seems like it would work fairly well for building the exact degree of this take on the power needed. (Might be hella expensive though' date=' UAA on a time shift that can send one target forward up to 1 Turn would yield an 82 Active Point power, before you add in other advantages like Area Of Effect; the million year version would be 100 Active Points.)[/quote']

Give the munchkins a chance and they will have that 100 active points down to 15 real in no time!

I had forgotten the mystic world.. that would work

  9. Re: NND and Entangle

EDM through Time (to some point in the future). Usable as an Attack with sfx the target is still there' date=' frozen and invulnerable until they "return". Still kinda cheesy but it seems to fit the effect. One problem that leaps out is that there is no granularity. The attack could send the target a Turn into the future or a million years for the same cost.[/quote']

A little cheesy but it does seem to fit the bill.

  10. Re: NND and Entangle

boy, didn't I just stir up a hornet nest?

A paralysis beam might be effectively done with either mental entangle (vs DCV ) or a drain of some sort (with heavy limitations)

What about cap chronos and his time bubble. Even the illegal construction really does not fit the power discription - as a bubble of stopped time should make the character not only unable to act -- but also make the target unable to be injured too (as any attack would just stop in the field)

    So what would work better?

extra dimensional movement usable as an attack at range perhaps? to a dimension with out time? (legal..but cheesy)

  11. Re: NND and Entangle

This is exactly what I was thinking. The GM could make it more palatable with Limitations like the fade rate suggested earlier or some sort of "Saving Throw" type effect (maybe a Con roll) but it's still a wonky mechanic that seems to cheap for what it does.

I agree with you, but as it did appear in 2 books - gadgets and gear being the worse of the two. I got into the - now how the heck do I make this work? train of thought.

If you chuck the entire NND entangle out the window... how do you make a legal Paralysis beam?

  12. Re: NND and Entangle

The Defense in Gadgets And Gear is "Power Defense or Not Having a Nervous System" - I would treat it like this: you need enough Power Defense to totally overcome the Body of the Entangle (it doesn't subtract like AVLD Defenses' date=' you either have enough or you don't). On that line of logic a Stronger version would require more Power Defense.[/quote']

Hmm That would work, and yeah, would have to have something like a time limit or wear down on body

  13. Re: NND and Entangle

What does it list the defense as in the book and/or how does it say to escape it?

Well the first is good old cap chronos who has a stop time bubble - the defense is temporal/dimensional powers.

The second one appears in the Gadgets and Gear source book as a Paralysis beam - and its power defense or not having a nervous system.

Wouldn't you know I would open this can of beans up when Steve is out...

  14. Re: NND and Entangle

Somebody had to have been snoozing while editing... Though I suppose making it AVLD instead of NND would qualify as 'strong' if it needed to be there...

Not sure what would make it 'weak', unless it had only a very limited period of effect...

Hmmm AVLD makes more sense - if you have the defined attack or defense you can blast your way out....

  15. Re: NND and Entangle

There has to be some way to get out of it (I'm assuming), so the strong version would take more of ... whatever that is.

What is the Defense against that? I refuse to believe that a half-die NND Entangle (10pts) will completely incapacitate anybody in the universe ...

Agree fully - NND isn't even supposed to be on entangles...but there are two different listing of exactly that in the books....

  16. Forgive me if this has already been answered.

Gadget and Gear has a listing for a paralysis beam -

Entangle with NND attached. Now it states this is illegal (fair enough) but also has a 'strong and weak version of it' If NND means the victim can't use str or an attack to escape...what purpose does a 'strong paralysis beam' do?
