  1. Sadly, I'm working out of Champions Complete and a couple of source books. *sigh* So your saying 6/6 vs 6DC? That sounds pretty good. Thanks. Just remember: You never count on recovery, when your rolling dice in combat There'll be time for recoverin', when the bleedin's done.
  2. I'm kind of in the same boat. If I may toss in a question of my own, when you're making a new campaign world, how do you balance damage output with armor? Do you just make sure the points are roughly even for attacks vs def? i.e. If the standard attack coming at them is 2DK to 3DK (30 - 45pts), am I looking at 10/10 to 15/15 armor? That doesn't seem to stack right. I don't want them to be invincible, but I would like the campaign to last more than 1 session. Thanks, J
  3. I'd say go with a few open ended questions that will get the ideas flowing and give the players more creative license. Such as: "Although they both have a firm understanding of their professional relationship now, Captain Awesome still..." "Captain Awesome will never forget the moment when..." "The reason that Captain Awesome will never admit that deep down he actually respects..." " Captain Awesome still does not truly understand, or have a firm grasp on..." "The reason people will never understand the true horror/love/shame that Captain Awesome has for..." Jake
  4. From Genghis Con (Two Weeks Ago): Darren's Golden Age Game: Black Mask blinds an eight story tall warewolf with his gas gun. Dr. Twilight then presence drains (fear) it down to 1 pre. and says into it ear, "You are blind, perhaps forever. You belong to the darkness now. Cease this violence and tell me what you are doing here, and perhaps I shall return you to the light" and then rolled about three bajillion on his Pre attack. "Dr. Twilight is kind of a dick" -Dash They guy who played Dash was awesome. Especially when he was picking up on the Mink. "See, yer Sleepin' Beauty, an... Ah saved yer life..." Ross' Shadow Angelus Game: "Scissors, we do not refer to the citizens that we are trying to save as 'Meat Sacks!'" "This is gonna show up in my annual eval, isn't it." One of the players was separated from the demon that plagued his every moment via ancient family curse. It was now free to terrorize the world and he was... upset. "Dude you're going to have to learn to let go." -OddHat "We'll get you a new demon! A better one!" Teh Bunneh was in that game as Scissors techno bauble droid (follower) Gadget. It worked out well considering that Gadget couldn't talk and neither could Teh Bunneh (lost his voice by the end of the con.) He had some of the best moments through pure pantomime and signage. Like sticking his tongue out when Scissors leapt from a car four stories up 'knowing' he would catch her (not knowing that he was demonically hacked.) "Gadget!! Gaaaaddgggeeeeeeeeetttttt!!!!!" Oddhat's Teen Titans Game: The players (forgot who) figure out that the only way to defeat Hate (npc badass) is to literally kill her with kindness. So he turns into the biggest, fluffiest dog imaginable with Disney sized eyes and says, "Rhy ron't you rove me??" Oh, I laughed sooooo hard. The Savage Mommy's Deadland Game: Two hours into a con game, "Okay so here's your mission..." Sarge has imaginary friends (Frankie). Dez: "So... Frankie says that you were supposed to pay me that 20 bucks he owes me" Sarge: "What does he owe you 20 bucks for? " Dez: "Oh you know, that thing... with the stuff and the, umm, I gotta go... " Dez fell out of the van... again.
  5. Re: Herophile Fantasy art How did you find the transition to the Cintiq? I find the disconnect from eye to hand a pain with the tablet. I know you've posted this before, but what has been your favorite coloring medium? Jake Coloring Monkey
  6. Re: Players earning plot points Aweshome! Thank you sir. Rep to you! (oh wait, it's not worth anything...) Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been remiss from these boards for about five years. This info will help greatly in my campaign. Now if only I can figure out that whole game balance thing... -J Remiss Monkey
  7. Game Masters: I saw a thread on here by someone who was using a very cool mechanic that involved players collecting plot/luck/drama/nifty keen points or something of the sort. The idea was that every game the players received one point which they could use in exchange for a re-roll or a +1 to an effect or something similar. Players could collect these points and use them en mass to create so major effects. Cash in enough points at once and you could practically re-write the game to some degree. I can’t find the thread and I have to believe that someone around here knows something about it (or even came up with it!) Can anyone help me out here? -J Plot Monkey
  8. Re: One shot Game Ideas When I get low on ideas, I grab a Dungeon magazine or two (not Dragon.) Even in non-fantasy genres, I can mash up a few of the ideas enough to get a decent one shot. Otherwise, it's old B-movies and comic books! -J
