PoorWandering 1
I was reading through some old indi comics and ran across something I'd like to see duped in HERO rules. It seems the lead in this comic had a gun that stunned people but went through doors/ walls/ robots rather effectively. It may be a personal failing but I can't seem to think of a way to do this in HERO. The problem is that the gun does NOT switch between types of shots. The same setting will cut through a door or stun the guard in front of it. I can see how this could be built as a VPP no time no skill limited to only 2 powers but that seems like overkill. Could am MP be shoehorned to do this? Perhaps variable advantage? How would You build it?
ghost-angel
Re: .... my trusty ten shooter. This could easily be built as an MP... Each slot is anything a bullet from this gun could do, you just choose what it does when you shoot it. Each slot would have to be an Ultra if you want the bullet to do one thing at a time, either stun the gaurd or shoot through the door. If you're game is more comicbookish than this doesn't require much in SFX handling, it's a gun with bullets. It uses only one type of round but they seem to do just what is needed for the job at hand. A more serious game might need a better explanation than that for why the same bullet would only stun a person but be able to blast through a door as well. There isn't a rule in the book that says you have to make it all realistic in any sense of the word.

But, this is easy to do in hero, it isn't a multipower, it isn't a variable power pool. It is this Bad concept pistol 3d6 RKA - OAF gun (-1), no body damage against living creatures. (-1/4), insert charges here is applicable (-something), if no charges then zero end (+1/2)
