Christopher R Taylor
I don't know the Champions Universe as well as some of you might, since when I ran Champions I had my own setting and characters. Are there supervillains in the CU that would be able to create natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, blizzards, etc? Lord Liaden
I'm guessing you don't mean just having elemental combat powers with those SFX, but actually able to cause significant wide-scale destruction with those powers? In the latter case I can think of a few. The top of that list is probably Kigatilik (Champions Villains Volume One: Master Villains), a malevolent god or demon of cold and darkness from the far North of the world. Kigatilik wields vast powers with those SFX, and desires and schemes to reduce the entire Earth to a frozen, lightless, lifeless ball of rock. Two villains written up in Champions Worldwide have the power to cause substantial earthquakes multiple kilometers in radius, Kazan ("Volcano") of Japan, and A’asifa Rumlia ("the Sandstorm") in Saudi Arabia. Kazan gained his powers as a result of a scientific accident, while A’asifa Rumlia is a living magical embodiment and guardian of the Great Arabian Desert (but cannot leave the wider Middle East). Stormfront (Champions Villains Volume Three: Solo Villains) is a mutant who can alter the weather over an area eight kilometers across from anything to anything, although radical weather changes can take an hour or more. If the type of disaster can be a wider range than what you mentioned, e.g. darkness, plague, or swarming insects, there are other possibilities I could mention. There are also super-scientist villains like Doctor Destroyer who could probably invent devices to create those effects. I'll also add that the Lemurian super-weapon called the Mandragalore can create any such "natural" disaster, of any possible magnitude, anywhere in the world. The Mandragalore was shattered long ago, but King Arvad the Lemurian ruler has for many years sought to reassemble it. That story and a description of the Madragalore appear in Hidden Lands. Finally, I hope you'll forgive me for touting my own endeavors, but I did assemble a new supervillain group from several official solo villains with strong commonalities, extreme eco-terrorists who use their combined powers and scientific expertise to create disasters to decimate the human race. I wrote up the concept and put the material into the free downloads part of this website: Gaia's Wrath for Champions. Jkeown
I'd like to run a natural disaster like a hurricane. They've got to be more than Darkness and Telekinesis, right?
