March 18, 200322 yr comment_107404 The only Uplift book I've read was Sundiver, which I thought was excellent. Are there any others in the series which you would reocmmend?
March 18, 200322 yr comment_107415 For myself, I highly recommend Startide Rising and Uplift War, both excellent books. The next trilogy (actually, now being billed as books 4-6 of The Uplift Series) starts out good but IMO sucks big time at the end. Thus, the above two books will ask some questions and start some long-term plotlines that may force you to read the other books; but you were warned.

April 7, 200322 yr comment_118383 Originally posted by Tweedle Contacting Aliens: An Illustrated Guide to David Brin's Uplift Universe by David Brin and Kevin Lenagh I picked this one up. I have to admit, it definitely removed some of the alienness of the alien races for me. I like it when the author tries to remove aliens from the group of easily identified stereotypes; this book, in describing them and, even worse, showing you line drawings, puts the aliens right back into the stereotypes again.

GURPS did an Uplift sourcebook that I have found easy to adapt/convert to HERO. The best part is a play-by-play process to uplift a race... very nicely done.
