Taking up these implements, she chose to fight for justice as The Crimson Baboon! (Note: She also does not speak French, despite the outrageous accent. She HATES the term "sidekick" and tends to go off explosively when someone applies it to her. Platinum Orangutang wears a skin-tight bodysuit of metallic silver plus a monkey mask, which is why she is frequently mistaken for an escaped NASA test chimp! She's brighter, tougher, and better looking than The Crimson Baboon, but seems completely unaware of it...and so is everyone else (she is, after all, a sidekick). Uncle Shecky
I love these characters, and I think you nailed the spirit of the Tick universe. I really like "Spanking of zee Monkee," the "Orangu-Hang Silver Foil Glider," and "Distinctive Features: Bad French Accent, Swashbuckler Outfit, Gorilla Mask." Every entertainment medium can be improved by the addition of a couple of monkeys.

They're mostly seen on the faces of either the more dedicated followers of the culture, or the odd gang member or two. That said the moko (with the o's making kind of an 'oar' or 'aww' noise, maww-kaww, the name for the facial tattoo here) has recently been seen on the face of a rising Maori radio personality. Most Maori performers just apply makeup to their face in simulation of the moko, as it tends to limit ones employment options. Can you imagine someone looking like, say, Darth Maul, working at Burger King?
MisterBaldy
Originally asked by SAW... Does anyone know if the "the Tick" cartoon series is available on DVD anywhere? I checked on a few websites such as Amazon and Netfilx...and The Tick only seems to be available on VHS format only. Sorry all...
