tgaptte
Hero does not have a standard (non-martial) maneuver for tripping an opponent that all characters can use...how would you build this? Base it off legsweep? Remember, it's got to be free... As an aside...not having a standard maneuver to trip an opponent seems to be an oversight...what are your thoughts on this? Thanks. Ben Seeman
Re: How to build Trip manuever I would base it off of legsweep and add negative DCV levels to make it have 0 cost. Oversight? Nah...
SCUBA Hero
Re: How to build Trip manuever A Grab lets you Throw someone. See Grab pp.256-7 and Legsweep and Martial Throw on p.265 of FREd. No need for anything else.
Dust Raven
Re: How to build Trip manuever SCUBA Hero is right, a "trip" maneuver is nothing more than the SFX of a Grab and Throw. Of course, if you actually wanted there to be such a maneuver as a "non-martial" throw that causes the target to fall and take damage based on their velocity, I don't see why that can't be added. It would fall along the same lines as including the Bind maneuver in certain compaigns where melee weapons are used frequently. In such a case I'd just make Martial Throw a standard maneuver (but without the DCV bonus). If you wanted to keep the Martial Throw a viable maneuver, you can also put a -1 OCV penalty on the non martial version.
tgaptte
Re: How to build Trip manuever Thanks all, that works for me! Grab and Throw...didn't think of that, and I've been playing HERO since 1982 or so...just goes to show, you can always learn something new. Thanks again.
