Rechan
What's a 'Pocket Brick'? I've seen it used a few times.
Tom McCarthy
I believe it's typically a brick with STR about 2-4 DCs below campaign limits (like a pocket battleship), but occasionally applied to a brick with shrinking.
Ghost Archer
We've always called them a Half brick or Cinderblock.
misterdeath
AFAIK, a pocket brick is a character with a high str, but not equal to the campaign max. Usually, they make this damage up with weapons, or martial arts, IMX. If you're campaign limit is 60 active, the brick will usually have a 60 Str. The Pocket Brick might have a 40 Str, but has a big hammer or martial arts, or multipower of doom to add to the damage potential. D
JohnTaber
Huh...we call them "Combat Specialists".
Stormraven
We always just called them 'minibricks'.
Rechan
You mean to Qualify as a general type, you have to hit the LIMIT? Wow. That's like, all bricks are the same. c.c
misterdeath
Well, usually the brick is the Strongest one. The Pocket Brick (we call them misterdeath's characters...) is Stronger than Human, but not As Strong as the Brick. In my experience, if you're playing with point limits, that's where the brick's Strength will be. It's not "efficient" to do otherwise. In a 60 active point campaign, you can bet that all the EBers have a 12d6 EB. Why shouldn't mr Brick have a 60 Str? In fact, a True Brick is not only the Strongest, but usually the Toughest (Con and Def). That's also another distinguishing characteristic. The Pocket Brick usually doesn't have that high of defenses. So, Bricks are the Strongest, and usually the Toughest, but primarily, and this is the kicker to me, they deal with problems with their great Strength (picking up cars, ripping up pavement, smackdowning the villain) and not with a whole lot of sophisticated tactics. Brick Tricks, yes. Sophisticated Tactics, no. If you've got them, look at the Champions. You have Defender and Ironclad. Ironclad uses his Strength to punch people (and has Find Weakness to make it better). If he needs to attack at range, he has to hope he can move thru it, or throw a large heavy object at it. Defender has great Strength, but primarily, he's doing other things in combat, EB's, move bys and the like. Strength isn't his schtick. That's a Brick. Strength is his schtick. Rechan
Reminds me a lot like D&D (A buddy converted me to Hero; Yummy!). I hadn't considered the 60 Str=12d6 EB. Thanks! Thanks for clarifying, too. But I don't know; I think that if you really tried, you could invent some rather inventive stuff for bricks to do. But from the soun of it, I like me some Pocket Bricks.
