I find that apple variety is less important than freshness. Even the usually bland, mushy Delicious apple is delightful if it's been less than a week since it was picked. Happily, we can get those, in season, since my folks live in the Yakima Valley.

Um . . . OS doesn't matter. I just need to open a blank white page, to type, and then to save what I've typed. No lag between hitting a key on the keyboard and its appearance on that virgin white field, just, it appears as I bang it out, and it stays there after I tell it to save.

 

If it saves for me, all the better.

Probably not, no.

 

I forget what Josh uses, but it looks to interface quite a bit like WordPerfect.

 

Probably OpenOffice, but he may have gone for something a little faster.

 

I really like OO, but occasionally it's a bit slow.
