Tech
There have been a few threads about how far someone with a high STR can throw things but I want to 'catch' something before it hits my game. The example below explains it fairly well: A villain and a hero are flying in the air. The villain, Hurler with a 100 STR hurls a tank weighing 40 tons at the hero, Kablamo Man, who has a 60 STR. Kablamo Man decides to catch the tank rather than dodge & let it crash into the crowds watching below. Okay, both superpowered beings have the ability to pick up & catch the tank. Now, the $100 question is: how long is it going to take for Kablamo Man to stop the tank? Often enough, we see a superhero catch something a villain throws. Sometimes, the hero easily catches it but more often than not, the hero catches it and strains to stop the momentum of the object before it hits the ground. Does anyone have a chart or can you give give suggestions &/or help on how to handle this?
Supreme Serpent
Re: Catch this! This sort of thing is probably covered in FRed or Ultimate Brick somewhere... But my off the top of my head ruling would be: take BODY of throw value less "BODY" of catch - so in this case on average would be 20-12=8. Go back 1" per body, similar to KB, until stop. Blue
Re: Catch this! I'd likely use the catching a falling character rule from FREd. -1" per 5 STR of the catcher. Incidentally, that's both the thrown object and the catcher moving that fast, if applicable.
