Alternate Earth 26: It’s a Wonderful Life?

One thing that makes Superheroes and Supervillains stand out is that they have a larger than normal impact on the world. How would the world be different if your character (or team) had NOT been there? Your choice as to whether this was because he wasn't born, never got his powers, or decided not to become a hero/villain.

Style – Style stopped the Kings of Edom from tearing through the mind of a frightened young girl and into our reality, healed a Cosmic Entity of “his†madness and thus won a thousand year reprieve for Humanity, and stopped the Wolf Fenris from returning to the world of men. He has healed countless burn victims, cancer patients, and accident survivors over the objections of Adrian Vandeleur and the Trismegistus Council, and shattered the hold of Demon over the city of Philadelphia. Later he prevented Demon from making a half-breed son of Edom the President of the United States. Even if Narrative Causality had placed other heroes in the key points of Style’s life, his world might have been far less pleasant without him.

Re: Alternate Earth 26: It’s a Wonderful Life?

I'll do one of each circumstance.

Anthem's birth complications were the cause for her mother's death. If Anthem had never been born, her mother would still be alive. However, her father, however well-meaning when he started out, would still have developed his chemical imbalance. He would eventually have murdered his wife and likely gone on to do many of the horrible things he's already done. Additionally, Anthem would not have been available to bring in one of the biggest villains of the previous campaign (on an incredibly lucky shot) and so I would envision the demise of the five other heroes.

Uncle Slam, having never developed his superpowers, would likley have become a soldier of other sorts. He'd not have had his longevity, and even died in the Second World War. Meanwhile the Axis powers would still have spawned their horrible Ubermen, and spread further in the war. Some of it would have actually reached the U.S., where the fight would be left to Paragon, the greatest of the heroes. Since in game "reality" he retired because his suit was killing him, in this alternate reality he likely would have taken drastic steps to destroy villains (not just stop them), so that he could retire without threat of their return. In the end, the suit would have killed him while he likely was awaiting extrodition for perceived war crimes, a few years after WWII.

Audra Blue, not having the guidance or incentive to become a hero, would leave a number of people without assistance. Many wrongs performed in the information world would go unnoticed, unpoliced corporations would get away with things because no one pointed it out to heroes. In fact, she might even become villainous in her anger. She could likely be bought to cover up the trails for corporations and to electronically destroy systems from far across the globe.

Hardware: His daughter Lisa would never have been born either, the company he works for would've gone bankrupt and disappeared years ago without his innovations, and street level criminals and low-powered supervillains would've turned Tulsa into their playground.

Air Raider: Vegas would become like Hudson City with casinos if Raider wasn't around to keep the underworld in check, Major Roger Briggman would've been killed by Iraqi soldiers during Operation: Desert Storm if Jason hadn't been there to watch his back, and a white slavery ring would've sold Bridget and a bunch of other young women to a sheik in the Middle East if they hadn't had a run-in with Sin City's Most Feared Viglante.

Tiger Shark: The U.S. Navy would have to do without one of their greatest superhuman assets and Hawaii would be wholy controlled by the Yakuza and like groups.

Mask of Justice: The crime problem in late 1930s NYC would be even worse.

Rock Bottom: Several homeless kids would have died in a chemical spill, though one of them might have gained powers instead. Venture Institute wouldn't have a success story yet, and be in more jeopardy of being closed.

Calculus: As yet undetermined, though his son wouldn't have been born, and Slaughterhouse Jack might have been a less effective crimefighter.

Kira Midori: Her hero team would have had a more difficult time against many of their enemies, and teenage girls would have been deprived of a sane role model.

Talion: His world would now be run by the local equivalent of Takofanes, or one of the other megavillains. The hero team he worked with would have died quickly.

Re: Alternate Earth 26: It’s a Wonderful Life?

Without the Leviathan 5 Doc Noble would have conquered the earth with his bio-engineered super soldiers;until,The Man In Black summoned the chaotic nameless god from his extra-dimensional prison destroying all order and riegning down terror on humanity; until, just a few months ago when the universe itself would have been destroyed becuase the L5 and their alternate selves wouldn't have stopped the collapse of Earth's dimensional structure.

With the rest of the team around and only Husky missing everything might be okay except for the dimensional collapse. Since it was the Husky serum coursing through Shaggy's viens that allowed Professor Juncture to possess him (SHaggy) and adapt to the fluctuations of the growing dimensional rupture long enough to stabilize the Universe.

Very OT, but darn, OddHat, you've got a heckuva campaign there. I'm envious.

And DEMON controlling Philly? Sounds about right -- I take it you've been there?
