Mark Taylor
Re: [Release Schedule] Dark Champions Battlegrounds? I know FH Battlegrounds didn't sell well' date=' but I thought the Champions Battlegrounds did. Am I incorrect on the latter account?[/quote'] To quote Darren Watts from a different thread (actually the thread with the same title as this one in the Company Questions forum): Champions Battlegrounds sold reasonably well out the door- preorders were strong' date=' and it reordered decently in it's first couple of months. Then the sales line fell off a table, and even our hoped-for minor bounces from our Origins nomination and ENnie win brought no additional sales whatsoever. Fantasy Battlegrounds, OTOH, was and remains the worst-selling title of the thirty-six total books we have released so far (and it's not really even close.) While I remain a fan of the concept and would very much like to figure out a format in which adventure modules sell, the fan base as a whole has spoken pretty clearly.[/quote']

nlubofsky
Re: [Release Schedule] Dark Champions Battlegrounds? I wonder if the Battlegrounds books would sell better if they were a bit easier to use. Don't get me wrong, I love the material to bits, but if I wasn't lucky to have one of my players spend the appreciable time to create the battle mats for the adventures in CB (Thanks, Kyle!), I don't know what I'd do. That's the great thing about Shades of Black -- it's a PDF, so it was fairly easy to expand the maps to the proper scale and print them out. But what do I know? I'm not a good customer market-research-wise, because I buy every Hero product that comes out! So don't listen to me! :-)
Steve Long
Re: [Release Schedule] Dark Champions Battlegrounds? Au contraire -- your opinion's as valid as any other, and as long as it's politely and reasonably expressed, we're glad to hear it. If you're suggesting that Battlegrounds books be published as PDFs, I'm afraid that's absolutely unfeasible. Even if they've sold (or more accurately, re-ordered) poorly compared to most of our books, they've done much better than SoB. Trying to sell them as PDFs would be the equivalent of saying, "Hey, hitting ourselves in the head with that hammer was only agonizingly painful. Let's try the sledgehammer to go for the really excruciating pain!"
BobGreenwade
Re: [Release Schedule] Dark Champions Battlegrounds? Maybe the Battlegrounds books could be sold with a disk with just the maps themselves in PDF format (though of course this would only work if the books had plenty of useful material other than the maps, like NPCs and whatnot). Seraphim
Re: [Release Schedule] Dark Champions Battlegrounds? I have bought every book that you have released so far, i ordered two sidekicks, and four sets of hero dice. the only book i havent got at moment is shades of black, but i am working on it. i would love to see dark champions battlegrounds but it needs to come out early in the line before you bring out pulp hero because ppl like me who genre hop will then not go back to dark champions for a while.
