Outsider
Re: grab and str contest No attack roll is needed, as he isnt really attacking you, just attempting to break out of your grab. If the troll was some sort of martial artist troll, though, and wanted to perform a reversal (ie a manuver he can only use starting with his opponent having grabbed him that ends up with him having his opponent grabbed) I would say he had to make the attack roll, since he ends up with an attack result on you (you are grabbed). I would say that a failure on the attack roll on the reversal would leave him free (assuming he won the str vs str) but not you grabbed. Rapier
Re: grab and str contest Now that's an image I have to inflict on my players. I was thinking kind of the same thing...but mine were NINJA TROLLS!
tkdguy
Re: grab and str contest I'd personally use Tai Chi for my trolls and ogres, just to see the look on my players' faces. And to answer your question, steph, I agree with Outsider. Only a STR contest is needed, not an attack roll.
