TheQuestionMan
Greeting HEROdom, please I need your help. I need to locate Ambience Music??? Links are good, but please be specific as I am still unlearned on how to find and download stuff. Jungle sounds day & night - disturbing and alien to northerners (Think Tarzan, Land of the Lost, etc...) and (Animal roars, screams, etc...) Tribal war drums - the natives are restless (Again, think Tarzan, Land of the Lost, etc...) Waterfall - Niagra level with jungle background (A cliffhanger for real) Aztec/Maya/Toltec "Tribal Chants†or African "Tribal Chants†or Meso-amerindian "Tribal Chants†Please and thank you QM
robbneu
Re: [GM asks your HELP] Ambient Music QuestionMan, I'm not trying to nit-pick, but "ambient" music is generally thought of as a subgenre within the electronic music genre. This is the sort of stuff that Brian Eno and Tangerine Dream pioneered in the 70s and 80s, before being picked up again by a number of other musicians who pushed things out of the "swirling pads" style that started the genre. What you're describing sounds more like "atmospheric" or "soundtrack" or even "world" music. Now, after being horribly snotty (sorry!), I guess I should try to help. I'm guessing that you're not looking to purchase anything, so your best bet is to look at stuff being done by unsigned artists. A lot of music by unsigned artists or music hobbyists can be downloaded for free. A great place to start is: http://www.soundclick.com/ For the stuff you're asking about, try "World" then maybe any of the "Traditional" subgenres listed. You probably wont find much in terms of jungle sounds, but the music might fit what you're looking for, if you dig deep enough. Good luck! CraterMaker
Re: [GM asks your HELP] Ambient Music Hey, here's some animal sounds: Toucan, Panther, Howler Monkey, Elephant, Chimpanzee, Macaw, Frog, Zebra, Koukaburra (the Laughing Bird), LIon, Leopard and Hippo.. http://jansjoyousjungle.com/junglesound.html I did a search for Jungle Sounds and came up with a ton of sites.. Here's another http://www.mybonbon.com/rainforest_sounds.htm about halfway down this next page is a nice long midi of jungle drums: http://www.discoverynet.com/~ajsnead/original/orig_6.html My advice is to add "Midi" to whatever your searching for, like Tribal midi Gave me this site, very cool mood/setting music for rpg's http://www.canfil.com/midi.html Good luck! -CraterMaker
Captain Obvious
Re: [GM asks your HELP] Ambient Music http://www.dinosaursounds.com/home/index.html This has lots of nice jungle-ish sounds, even if technically they're derived from ages long past. CraterMaker
Re: [GM asks your HELP] Ambient Music I don't think you'll be able to get a broader selection of sounds without paying for 'em.. For example, I couldn't find any music files of chanting for free - thems your going to have to pay for, I think.. Sorry - CraterMaker
CraterMaker
Re: [GM asks your HELP] Ambient Music I also found this site, with soundclips of doors opening and closing, breaking glass, civil war drumrolls, and in the Battles section it has samples of background sound during fantasy, wwII, and sci-fi wars.. http://toxicbag.com/ They also sell cd's of sounds for gamemasters.. -CraterMaker
