zornwil Posted January 25, 2005 Report Share Posted January 25, 2005 I suggested this before - we build a "translation" to show what page in 5ER equates to 5th. This way, one can translate Steve's or anyone's page references. There may be some reorg involved that makes it a bit more than just pages, but anyway should be of generally good value. Naturally, it should be noted that as 5ER expands greatly on 5th, often times a page reference in 5ER will lead to text not found in the other book. Remember Sidebars! So I'll start. Note I capitalize "NEW", I think it's good to promo the edition. 5ER => 5th p. 5 => p. 1, kinda; the intro in 5th is expanded and updated p. 6 => p. 2 though "Other Resources", "What Else is Out there", and "Hero Designer Character Creation Software" are NEW p. 7 => p. 2 p. 8 => p. 3 p. 9 => p. 3-4 p. 10 => p. 4-5 p. 11 => p. 5-6 p. 12-15 => none, NEW section on Character Sheet (how to read)! p. 16 => p. 6-7 p. 17 => p. 7 p. 18 => p. 7-8 p. 19 => p. 8-9 p. 20 => p. 9 p. 21 => p. 9-10 p. 22 => p. 10 p. 23 => NA (splash page) p. 24 => p. 11-12 p. 25 => p. 12-13 p. 26 => p. 13 NB, most of the material on this page new/expanded p. 27 => p. 14 p. 28 => p. 14-16 p. 29 => p. 16 except Optional Character Design Guidelines Table NEW! p. 30 => p. 16-17 p. 31 => p. 17-18 p. 32 => p. 19 p. 33 => p. 19-20 (NB, major expansion on Movement, NEW section on Movement Maximum Values) p. 34 => p. 20-21, STR Table on p. 21 p. 35 => p. 21 except tables from this page on p. 22 p. 36 => p. 22-23 p. 37 => p. 23 p. 38 => p. 23 p. 39 => p. 23-24 p. 40 => p. 24 NEW section on Incremental Characteristics and Characteristics Comparisons; NEW Table for Characteristics Comparison p. 41 => NEW continued section on Characteristics Comparisons and NEW Table for Characteristics Benchmarks Table p. 42 => p. 26 p. 43 => p. 26-27 NEW Skill Roll Table p. 44 => p. 27-28 p. 45 => p. 28-29 p. 46 => p. 29 but Sidebar appears on p. 33 p. 47 => p. 29-30 NEW section on Untrained Skills, Skill List on p. 30 p. 48 => p. 30-31 p. 49 => p. 31-32 p. 50 => p. 32-33 Sidebar p. 33 p. 51 => p. 33-34 Sidebar p. 34 p. 52 => p. 34-35 p. 53 => p. 35 p. 54 => p. 35-36 Combat Skill Level Table on p. 36 p. 55 => p. 36-37 p. 56 => p. 37-38 p. 57 => p. 38-39 p. 58 => p. 39 p. 59 => p. 39-40 Sidebar on p. 40 p. 60 => p. 40-41 p. 61 => p. 41-42 p. 62 => p. 42-43 p. 63 => p. 43-44 p. 64 => p. 44-45 Sidebar on p. 44 p. 65 => p. 45 p. 66 => p. 45-46 p. 67 => p. 46-47 p. 68 => p. 47 p. 69 => p. 47-48 p. 70 => p. 48-49 Skill Levels Table on p. 49 p. 71 => p. 49-50 p. 72 => p. 50-51 Sidebar on p. 49 p. 73 => p. 51 p. 74 => p. 51-52 Transport Familiarity Categories on p. 52 p. 75 => p. 51-53 Sidebar starts on p. 51, ends on p. 53 p. 76 => p. 54 p. 77 => p. 53 p. 78 => p. 55 p. 79 => p. 55-56 p. 80 => p. 56-57 p. 81 => p. 57-58 p. 82 => p. 58 p. 83 => p. 58-60 Sidebar on p. 58 p. 84 => p. 60 Reputation Table on p. 59 Sidebar on p. 59 p. 85 => p. 60 p. 86 => p. 61-62 p. 87 => p. 62 Talent Summary Table on p. 61 p. 88 => p. 62-63 p. 89 => p. 63-64 NEW Danger Sense Quick-Reference Table p. 90 => p. 64-65 Sidebar split into 64-65 p. 91 => p. 65-66 p. 92 => p. 66 There, I've done ~15% to get the ball rolling! Sean Waters Posted March 3, 2005 Report Share Posted March 3, 2005 Re: 5ER to 5E Page Numbering zornwil, buddy, where you been? If you're this tied up witht he election does it mean us little people won't get to see you if you are made president? Anyway, more posts to more boards will bring more attention to your campaign! I hardly ever get over to the NDG board so I didn't really notice this voting thing happening unteil I read your sig, so I'd have an opinion on every thread on every board if I were you. Get the message out there! (BTW, what is the message?) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
zornwil Posted March 3, 2005 Author Report Share Posted March 3, 2005 Re: 5ER to 5E Page Numbering Good point, TRL, I have been busy with other stuff and taking some general time off from the boards the last few days (and in some ways longer as I just started doing a little catch-up last night). I almost started back on this last night but yesterday was my first day back to work after 5 days and just plain got too tired. I think the message is "Grease is the word!" No, wait, that can't be right... On a more serious note, thanks to several people for their encouragement (and rep) for this thread, I do intend to work on it tonight, as well as catch up in general on some HERO and Champions threads (and, no, not to get more votes - though I'm not saying I'd turn votes down!). Steve Long Posted March 21, 2005 Report Share Posted March 21, 2005 Re: 5ER to 5E Page Numbering Zornwil, I asked Ben to copy off your posts and put them on the 5ER page or the like, but if you could send him the straight text I'm sure it would help him. Thanx! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
