A huge man, he stood 6' 4" and weighed well over 300 pounds, and although had a full head of blond hair, shaved his head to maintain his look as a villain in movies and the ring. He broke into acting in the early thirties, and was usually cast as a strongman or a weightlifter. Later, he appeared in a number of Ed Wood films, where he tended to play hulking thugs and lab assistants. Probably his most famous role was playing the part of Inspector Daniel Clay in Plan 9 from Outer Space. While the real Tor Johnson was an intelligent and friendly man, his typical screen persona was of a glowering mute man-mountain who would inarticulately threaten the heroes and/or throttle the film's villain when things went south. He's perfect for any number of genres, including Pulp Hero, Horror Hero, Western Hero, Dark Champions, and possibly Champions or Fantasy Hero. This character sheet is based on Tor's character sheet in GURPS Atomic Horror first edition. As I recently picked up the second edition of Atomic Horror, which doesn't contain a character sheet for Tor, I decided to create this adaption to preserve Tor for gaming posterity. Johansson and Lovissa Petersson, character sheet created by Michael Surbrook)

tkdguy
Re: Character: Tor Johnson The Stuperpowers game has the power Strength of Tor, which gives the hero expertise in wrestling at the expense of fluency in English. Tor Johnson was the basis for this power, of course.

CandidGamera
Re: Character: Tor Johnson Funnily enough, I've been planning to do a series of bad-movie write-ups for Hero, primarily drawing from Mystery Science Theater. I've just been a little busy is all.. But I'll get'em eventually!
FenrisUlf
Re: Character: Tor Johnson I would rep you if I could. Long live the invincible Tor Johnson! And OT, but doesn't a Tor avatar show up in the 'Welcome to the Maul' adventure in Champions Battleplaces?
