Mutant for Hire
Scientists invent smar armor, flexible yet able to resist impact. link here This looks like something out of a comic book.
wcw43921
Re: Smart Armor I'm sure Bruce Wayne has a half-dozen suits made of the stuff on order--steel-gray with a black Bat-emblem across the chest.

freakboy6117
Re: Smart Armor i wonder how well a tee shirt of this would work to stop blunt force trauma coming through a bulletproof vest. also how it fairs against physical blows say clubs or thrown bricks. i can see this being a popular item worn under riot gear if it gets a lot cheaper that is. AmadanNaBriona
Re: Smart Armor Hmm... So if I am following current tech advances right, we now have the ability to really make the whole "amored costumes". Carbon nanotube thread, with d3o impact resistance for blunt force trauma, and nanotube reinforced ceramic traumaplates. Nasty. I'm expecting politicians to be mostly bulletproof in a very few years. I was thinking that a layer or two of this either on the back side of the soft (kevlar etc) armor or in between the layers might do wonders for blunt force trauma. I suspect carbon nanotubes are going to be used in reinforcement of other things, like "hard" kevlar plates. It will be hard to make usable threads for a while, and I don't know just how flexible they will really be. Now ceramet or rigidized carbon nanotube trauma plates or dragonscale external layer with goatsilk soft under armor and the d3o inside to absorb residual blunt force trauma...
