Since Keldravia is actually a pretty militant kingdom (very much so in my game) I think some sort of holiday in late spring for... um...'free love' might be a good idea, so the young men have a chance to spread their seed before marching off to war.

 

In a kingdom where growing population is important, I'd think the social stigma attached to being a bastard would be lessened.

 

Some interesting thoughts, McCoy.

In that case, add anyone who retires from the military after 20+ years to the Peer For Life list.

Wouldn't be hard to make them.

 

Anyone not registered with a local church and attending services there on a weekly basis and wanting to wander round wearing armour and/or carrying weapons larger than a hunting knife would have to purchase an adventurer's licence.

 

Category now stable enough and the licence would have to be renewed regularly (so that the foresters can keep tabs on their movements).

 

Who needs common if the revenues are large and unusual enough to spend money on taxing them....
