Derek Hiemforth
Re: Gilgamesh a few questions regarding Gil. was he Mesopotamian? About how old would he be? Yes (Sumarian, specifically.) Were he alive today, he'd be roughly 4600 years old. Beyond Tiamat' date=' and Enkidu, who did he fight/hang out with?[/quote'] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epic_of_Gilgamesh

Beyond Tiamat, and Enkidu, who did he fight/hang out with? He was Sumerian. He'd be about 5000 years old or so, give or take a few centuries. And he never fought Tiamat, though he did fight Humbaba, Giant of the Cedar Forests. As well as the Bull of Heaven, and Enkidu. He also liked brawling and womanizing, and for a lugal* he acted more like a biker on a bender most days. One more note: some scholars are arguing that his name should be pronounced something like "Bilgamesh". Yeah, it sounds awful to me too. * -- Sumerian word for king. Thanks all. ...and I have most of the links. I just apparently forget when I am writing up a champs character to research anywhere else. I think Simon has placed hypnotic suggestions that keep me here.
