It was supposed to be a stepping stone for her own political career, work a few years for the mayor, run for city council on her merits as an adroit handler of the media and her fellow politicians. However, on a world with superheroes, aliens, monsters, and talking animals, plans often have unforeseen conclusions. When the brilliant but angry Dr. Impossible kidnapped the Mayor, Amber was also abducted. It wasn't that Dr. Impossible wanted to take her as well, she wouldn't leave the mayor's side. Dr. Impossible then held the Mayor and his aide hostage, demanding the return of his Flux Core. The local superhero team, the Sentinels, saved the day; but during the fight between the team and Dr. I's minions, Amber was bathed in the energy vapor of the untested Flux Core Prototype. She became quite sick and required hospitalization. After a few days however, the symptoms lessened and she was allowed to return to work. Unbeknownst to everyone save Ms Holt, she had somehow gained the ability to summon the silvery blue energy that had enveloped her. In secret, she trained in the use of these powers, and then she developed a costume and joined the City's superhuman defenders as Brightstar. Personality/Motivation: At the moment, Brightstar is still stuck in her selfish ways. She has the potential to be a true heroine, but the inclination is slow in coming to her. She is content to be a media sensation and bask in the celebrity. But, she's no fool and plays the role of clean cut heroine to the hilt. For this reason, she never runs from battle and works well with other heroes and the authorities. However, there is a PC heroine who seems to see through her disguise. This makes her nervous and angry. Her plan right now is to save the day on a grand scale (or a few years of smaller victories) and retire from heroing, revealing her identity, and running for office. It worked for President Roberts, after all. Quote: "Don't worry, officer, I can handle it." Powers/Tactics: Brightstar is relatively limited in her power but very skilled in it's use. At the moment she can fly, protect herself with a force field, and fire bolts of energy. On the plus side, her energy blast power is extremely flexible and she's quite trained in it's various uses. She generally uses a "Light Pulse" that is accurate (No Range Mod) and easy to use (0 End), She also will use a "Heavy Pulse" that is more damaging (AP, 0 END), a "StarBomb" (Explosion, 0END), or a "StarHammer" (x2KNB). Against a large number of foes (with relatively low defenses) she'll fire a "Starwave" (AE), and finally, against fearsome foes she might let loose with her "Black Hole Burst" (NND vs Force Field). The last three attacks she avoids because of their high END usage. (approx 15 END per shot) Campaign Use: A superheroic rival for player characters. Her 150 AP attack is a bit high for a beginning campaign, but she's got little else. If you need to lower it, drop her EC to 20pts base, and then make the energy blast and Naked advantage combo 120 pts. To improve her, she might develop other abilities, in particular a Flash attack seems appropriate. Perhaps an END Reserve as well. Appearance: Brightstar is a lovely young woman with a trim, athletic physique. She has long, straight blond hair and blue eyes. She dresses in appropriate "power suits" or dresses as befits the occasion. As Brightstar she wears a white body suit with a white jacket. The Jacket has blue trim and piping along the collar and sleeves. She wears opaque blue goggles, blue boots, and short blue gloves. The jacket is worn open and she has a blue five pointed star outline on her chest.

Enforcer84
Re: [CHAR] Brightstar She's kind of rushed and I quit at 350. She should probably have some contacts, favors, and maybe more KS's... but she's about right.

TheQuestionMan
Re: [CHAR] Brightstar I good character design, but the "Energy Tricks: Variable Advantage" needs something more. I hae never been a fan of Naked Advantages, but this one works. Be interesting to see you GM a group of Players using your Characters. Legatus
Re: [CHAR] Brightstar I like her the way she is. Low in points, but well constructed. Seems that you also know how to build "normal" characters, not just galactic level types. (I'll not forget Emperia, nor forgive:eek:)
