Vestnik
Questions on senses and degrees of perception: According to 5E, it costs 25 points to get 360 degree vision for all your senses. Now, aren't your Hearing and Touch, and to some extent Smell, ALREADY 360 degrees? Is this already factored into the price? (How about any Mental Group senses?) (And what the heck is 360 degree perception with Taste?) Also, why do so many beasties in the Bestiary pay 2 point for +1 PER for the Sight Group even though they only have Normal Sight, and so should pay 1 per +1 PER? Am I missing something? EDIT: sorry about duplicate post.
Lucius
Re: I've Got 1 2 3 4 5, Senses Working Overtime Questions on senses and degrees of perception: According to 5E, it costs 25 points to get 360 degree vision for all your senses. Now, aren't your Hearing and Touch, and to some extent Smell, ALREADY 360 degrees? By my understanding, yes. Sight, Hearing, and Smell all have Range too. Sight is Targetting. What was the question? Is this already factored into the price? (How about any Mental Group senses?) I would assume that "All" means "All." If a character has Mental Senses and buys 360 degrees for all senses, then Mental Senses are 360 degrees. What else makes sense? (And what the heck is 360 degree perception with Taste?) Unless you Taste at Range, I am not sure this would mean much. If you bought it ONLY for Taste, and did NOT get Range, I'd say maybe this means your skin is now a taste organ. If you have ranged Taste and 360 degrees, that means you can taste somebody sneaking up on you. Weird, huh? Also, why do so many beasties in the Bestiary pay 2 point for +1 PER for the Sight Group even though they only have Normal Sight, and so should pay 1 per +1 PER? Am I missing something? EDIT: sorry about duplicate post. Can't answer that one. Maybe it's some kind of overSight? Lucius Alexander The palindromedary wants to buy Transmit for the sense of Touch, and share the pain. So in paying 25 points for 360 degrees for all senses, you're actually buying it for just two of them -- sight and taste (assuming no senses beyond the usual 5)? I'm not sure since I don't have my book but I'm not sure this adds up pointswise.

Killer Shrike
Re: I've Got 1 2 3 4 5, Senses Working Overtime As an aside, in 5th edition rules at the beginning of the Combat section, in Before Combat, there is a section on Sense Groups that tell you what modifier each Sense has and how many points its worth. Very handy.
BobGreenwade
Re: I've Got 1 2 3 4 5, Senses Working Overtime Actually there are only four natural Sense Groups, not five: Sight, Hearing, Smell/Taste, and Touch. But if you buy 360 Degrees (or any other Modifier) for All Sense Groups, it also affects any others you get through Enhanced Senses: Radio, Mental, Mystic, Electric, or whatever.
