TrinSarda
Can I get a link to any sites with fan made rules for Hero versions of things like Buffy, Dr Who, Charmed, Stargate and so on. Especially the new Dr Who. Thanks. (I presume that this is the right place for this thread.)

Lord Liaden
Re: Netbooks & Fanbooks Links Welcome to the community, TrinSarda! Feel free to ask any questions you like -- we all love to show off how much we know. That said, this particular forum is devoted to discussing the various books published by Hero Games, rather than fan-created material on the Internet. To find such things in future, I would recommend posting in the forums labeled "Hero System Discussion" or perhaps "General Roleplaying," or else in the forums devoted to particular genres, e.g. "Champions" for supers, "Star HERO" for sci-fi, etc. Nonetheless, as it turns out I can help you in your quest. Below are links to the broadest, most thorough HERO character conversion/adaptation fansites I know of on the Internet: http://surbrook.devermore.net/index/archive.html http://www.angelfire.com/scifi2/mathew/champions.html http://www.sysabend.org/champions/gnborh/ I know for a fact that there are links to plenty of character write-ups for the Buffyverse on the first and second of those sites, and the Charmed witches on the second one. (Note that for the second website, its links are occasionally cranky and may take you to the site's homepage instead. Just go Back and try the link again.) For Stargate characters, as well as lots of other HERO science fiction stuff, try here: http://www.starherofandom.com/index.php . There is actually a lot more HERO info about the Stargate universe, scattered over various forum threads. You can track that down by looking up "Stargate SG-1" on this list of links to numerous conversions: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23298 . (Note that this list hasn't been updated in a while, so a few links are moribund.) Oddly, there's not much HERO stuff related to Dr. Who that I'm aware of -- just a few scattered bits here on the forums. When I get more time I'll Search to see if I can unearth any of it. I hope that helps. Anything more specific you need help with, don't hesitate to post.

Curufea
Re: Netbooks & Fanbooks Links There are some rolepalying games for Doctor Who that are non-Hero (some are better suited to Doctor Who than the Hero system could ever be, but some are worse)- Doctor Who roleplaying games Note - converting Doctor Who things to Hero will just make a Hero game, not a Doctor Who game. The genre is not suited to the system as the system has too many rules. On a side note, on my Baron Munchausen wiki I recently wrote up some notes on running Doctor who games including a quick list of characters

If there can be a GURPS Doctor Who, then there can be a Timelord Hero I would believe. True the game has many rules, but these can be circumvented to fit a genre ... after all it is a toolbox
