There was another one (GQ Lupi) claimed a couple years back, but there the star is lower-mass and not solar-type. Now, as to genuine ... assuming you also have access to an 8-meter class telescope with adaptive optics and a sensitive infrared camera, it'd be fairly easy to confirm the discovery.
