Lord Liaden
Re: 4th edition support Nah. Lots and LOTS of COM. As in "siliCOM?" Interesting. Most games I've played in' date=' SPD tends to be 5, occasionally 6, with a FEW Bricks at 4. Speedsters tend 8-9.[/quote'] Mostly the same for me, but the Martial Artists usually start at 6, with speedsters at 6 or occasionally 7. Ramps up from there with Experience, although I don't think I've had a PC with SPD greater than 8.
Sorloc
Re: 4th edition support Any weigh-in on the Power Frameworks issue? 1 ) Stats (Characteristics) in a Power Framework are, while legal, naughty. 2 ) Powers that cost 0 END in a Power Framework are also naughty although legal. 3 ) A GM who allows a PC to have a high AP Multipower with variable slots is asking for trouble. Killer Shrike
Re: 4th edition support Any weigh-in on the Power Frameworks issue? Eh. Mileage varies. I would say, when using Power Frameworks you have to look at the WHOLE CHARACTER and consider the total build IN CONTEXT to the campaign and the other characters in it. This is true of ALL CHARACTERS and ALL POWER CONSTRUCTS, really. Frameworks are generally more complex and thus require more attention to detail, is all. JmOz
Re: 4th edition support I'm glad someone else started this... I'm actually having some issues in a pbp game I'm runnning using 4th ed. I've got a good friend who's seen the seedy underbelly of the Champions system, and assumes that everyone is secretly going to try something sneaky, and he's pointing out a lot of things I had missed when the characters were first submitted to me. Now a 'discussion' has spilled onto an OOC thread, and I'm not sure what side I'm on, so I come, looking for second-nth opinions. A few of the points: (again, 4th-ed Champions) (40 Active max attack) 1 ) Stats (Characteristics) in a Power Framework are, while legal, naughty. 2 ) Powers that cost 0 END in a Power Framework are also naughty although legal. 3 ) A GM who allows a PC to have a high AP Multipower with variable slots is asking for trouble. 4 ) I have capped SPD at 4 for PCs in my game - except for a Speedster archetype. What is a fair SPD cap for a speedster in a 4 SPD world? 4a ) What is the max movement I should allow the speedster, balanced against his ability to defend against his own move-by/through? I think you need to distinguish Power Frameworks from EC's, in 4th and 5th their is no real problem using a MP for either 0end powers or chacteristics, that was only EC's as for 3) Depends on how good the player 4) Well I allow humans (and any character not speedster based) go to 6 I think of speedsters as being 6-8 some Math says 4-6 would be a good range. Max Movement combat I would say 35" max, NCM I would allow basicaly the sky is the limit
